this iskin fits over my 40gig ipod photo very well and protects it from dust. The screen protecter is the best part of the iskin, it keeps my screen free from scratches and it doesn't take awy from seeing the color photos on my ipod. Unlike other cases for the ipod, it keeps the size small and not bulky like the jamjacket and others. the silicone seems like it can take a hit and protect the ipod, although i would only test it by accident.

Horrible item... noisy and crappy.......2007-08-15

I agree with the previous reviewer. This system has a very loud and distracting humming noise that just won't go away. Mine didn't skip playing DVDs (at least it hasn't yet), but my main speaker died after three days of use. I called Philips technical support and they sent me a replacement speaker pretty fast. However, it is the wrong color (brown, and my system is black, and so are the stands I bought for it). Now Philips tells me that brown and black have the same part number, and that black is no longer made, so I have stands, right speaker and subwoofer in black, but left speaker in brown. Total lack of quality in manufacturing, performance, and support.

I would not recommend this unit to anyone! Bought new at Bestbuy, to play DVDs on, primarily. It skips on at least half of the DVDs we put in it, even brand new DVDs I own, with NO marks whatsoever on them.
In addition to this, the unit sometimes just freezes up, and the remote does nothing. This is fixed by unplugging it and plugging back in.

There is also a bad background speaker noise, which is OK with a loud action movie - when it's not skipping - but terrible if you are playing quiet music on it. Basically, this thing was built with appalling quality control and I would NOT recommend buying it. If it didn't skip, I suppose it would have been OK, as a cheap way to play DVDs and CDs, and would be a bargain for 100 bucks, as a short term solution. However, it drove us mad!

Solid mid range speaker stands.......2007-11-23

I was very pleased with this product. The purchase comes with two stands. The stands were easy to assemble. The stands are pressboard wood. They are solid and the paint on them hasn't chipped or flaked, except for one place...read on to find out. I have fairly large speakers and the stands support them well.

The only thing I didn't like very much was the way the wire cover was implemented on the back of the stand. You get two pieces of flat, semi-flexible plastic that you insert into two slots cut on the back of the stand. You have to bend the plastic into a half pipe and then slide them down the base of the stand while keeping the plastic half pipe in the slot. It took a couple of tries to get the plastic pieces to bend and then slide into the slots that retain them. I nicked the top of the wood at the top and it chipped a bit of the paint off. However, once I figured it out and got them in it looks pretty good.

Effective and attractive.
