Don't waste your money.......2007-06-05

Received this as a gift.
I have a tremendous Panasonic system in my livingroom, so I decided to use this in my bedroom.
I still cannot get the subwoofer to work.
The speaker sound is tinny, and I seriously doubt this has 720 watts of power.
The speakers that came with my computer have better sound quality than this system.
Save your money and invest in a better quality system.

We liked the old 70's look w/the tuner. But need remote to change stations. Keep that in mind. Works well w/ DVD player. For cd's.
Speakers give off great sound for being their size.

For the price you just can't beat it. It works GREAT, i have no issues with it at all. It hooked up to my TV, PS2, VCR seamlessly. i highly recommend this product t oanyone lookin to buy a theatre system on a tight budget!!

Great beginner system for a low price.......2007-05-07

This is a great starter home theater system for someone who wants something basic for a real low price. The power is good and the audio quality is excellent. It's relatively easy to install, I hooked up all six speakers in about 1 hour, plus a trip for some extra speaker wire I went to Radio Shack to get. RS also recommended wire connectors that you press in with pliers. You'll also need better AM and FM antennas, and the unit has separate connecting jacks so you'll need one antenna of each. But the speakers and receiver themselves are outstanding. Along with the JVC 7-CD disc changer I have on order from Amazon, this should give me a pretty decent home theater system for about $335 total. Of course it could be better, and if you want ultra-high fidelity, you should go for a model maybe $250 higher, but I am very happy with this purchase. RCA makes great products.

UPDATE!!: I purchased a Sony 5-Disc changer to go with this, the JVC changer is not available apparently. WOW! Jimmy Yarbrough says it best in his review: This system ROCKS! The sound fills up our large living room and the CD-quality sound is pristine. The subwoofer is great with four settings, and it really makes the room shake if you want it to, although I don't (the low setting or "regular" setting is perfect if you want to be a bit more mellow, yet it still packs a punch.) Man, what a bargain this is, I LOVE IT when you can get an outstanding product at a great price!
