It also offers a digital AM/FM radio tuner features a total of 40 station presets, auto tuning, and auto store functionality. The HTS3410/37 provides 700 total watts of power (6 x 115 watts per channel), and includes a passive subwoofer, center channel speaker, and four satellite speakers.

The built-in DTS and Dolby Digital decoders eliminate the need for an external decoder by processing all six channels of audio information to provide a surround sound experience and an astoundingly natural sense of ambience and dynamic realism. Dolby Pro Logic II provides five channels of surround processing from any stereo source.

The six-channel Class D amplifier provides dramatically enhanced sound quality over digital amplifiers used by competitors as it's designed to control and reduce EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference). In addition, it uses a closed loop design which suppresses distortion and loss of audio quality. Digital amplifiers, in general, also generate far less heat than standard analog amplifiers, allowing for smaller set enclosures.

Its 192 KHz sampling enables you to have an accurate representation of the original sound curves. Together with a 24-bit resolution, more information is captured from the original analogue sound wave form, giving a much richer audio reproduction. Other features include color-coded connectors for simple set-up, PAL/NTSC playback, JPEG photo slideshows (with zoom and rotate functionality), and tri-lingual menu display (English, French, Spanish). A great value, excellent sound.......2007-02-09

We had this system for a year and a half, using it in a store seven days a week for about 10 hours/ day as a stereo system (never tried the video, that wasn't what we got it for). After that much abuse it finally gave up on us and wouldn't read discs, but we thought for the $170 it often runs at Target, it's hard to beat, value wise. The sound is quite excellent, the speakers are very easy to connect and set up, the remote is great, the treble and bass are very distinct and clear, hard to go wrong here for the price.

Great system for the price.......2007-01-02

Just picked this up for $128 at Target over Christmas. This is our first sound system and great for someone who knows nothing about electronics. We haven't had any problems with skipping, humming or anything else. You can't beat the quality for the price and we are very satisfied. Highly recommended for anyone wanting decent sound without spending big bucks!

Well, I ended up buying mine on closeout from Radio Shack for $149..
I love mine... The sound really is great, and the price was AWESOME! I use mine for DVD's, my TV's regular sound for all TV I watch, and also as a Tuner to listen to the radio/ CD's in surround sound.
Some buyers talked about a whine from the speakers... I don't know if this helps or not, but I will share- I had extra wire bundled up from the speakers and I did NOT put all that wire anywhere near the speakers or the head unit. I thought that bundle of wire near a speaker might cause interference, so if you have that whine, make sure the extra wire is not near the equipment. Mine does not make any noise on standby, or skip at all either. I am very happy with mine.

Worth the Money...MINOR drawbacks.......2006-10-06

I have owned this system since March...the sound is wonderful...definetly a great value for the money...the bass could be just a little stronger and the rear speakers aren't used as much as I thought they would be, but it is the best sound you will find for this kind of money...music sounds great, dvd is fine for the most part, no serious problems but progressive scan does act up from time to time, recycling the power corrects the problem...it will also plays cd's that I burn off my computer which is more than my kizillion dollar sony will do...and unless you are a sound snob, this system will work fine for you...and if you are a sound snob, why are you even considering this one...go for the bose system for 800.00 cause this one can't compare

Great sound, horrible DVD.......2006-05-13

The sound on this system is really fantastic for the price, but I've had the same experience as the other reviewer. The DVD skips constantly, and Phillips is absolutely no help in fixing the problem. Amazon has been great and has offered to give a 50% credit, but Phillips insists that I send (at my own expense) the machine to them and then wait 4+ weeks to have a 'possibly' refurbished unit. I'm quite disappointed with Phillips and its lack of customer service.
