Some minor annoyances, but over all a great first-time home theater.......2005-08-08
I am not an audiophile. I bought this unit for a small apartment living room. This is the second home theater I've owned. I had a Panasonic HT-P38, but was unhappy with it and returned it within 30 days. I've had this JVC now for about two months and am very happy with it.
What I like about it:
-Easy control of speaker output settings from the remote.
-Good bass (as low as 30 Hz) from subwoofer.
-Clear sound from center and satellite speakers.
-"Play and exchange" disc changer which allows you to continue playing a disc without interruption while at the same time exchange discs in one of the five separate disc trays.
Some issues I've had:
-Rear satellite speakers are awkward to mount due to poor design. There is a keyhole mount hole toward the top of the speaker, but there are small peg-like protrusions which will not allow the mount to attach. I ended up using the alternate screw-hole mount toward the bottom of the speaker, which looks awkward and puts more torque on the mount.
-VERY short front speaker wires. Since the wires on all the speakers are hard-wired into the cases, I could not replace the wires, but had to buy extra wire to make a splice so that it would reach the speaker hook-ups at the rear of the sub-woofer.
-Relatively few inputs.
-Poor FM reception.
So while there are a few issues I have to work around, over all I'm happy with this unit.

This is good for basic printing..........2005-02-11
This printer is not for photos and anything that is beyond your basic printing. It prints fine and I have had ours for about 5 years now. It works fine still. Ink can get pricey because even on Fast/Econo print it still takes a lot of ink. But, that also has to do with two kids in college and business printing. So I feel it uses about the same about of ink as many printers. But, I have tried to print pictures and it does not hold up for those. Pictures are streaky and pixelated. I would recommend going to a better quality printer for anything beyond your basic printing funcions.
Not a good printer!.......2004-09-13
I was shocked when my father told me that he got this printer for just $20.00 brand new!! The problems didn't last too long to show off:
1. No black cartridge and it was incredible hard to find and pretty expensive, almost twice the price of this printer.
2. The paper feeder is the worst feeder I've ever seen. You have to stack about 50 sheets to it to work well, but when you have just 5 sheets the jam starts!!
3. I don't know if it's a WinXP problem but every time I connect my printer to my USB port, Windows says that it couldn't find an installed driver, never!! But finally it works.
4. Print quality is ok, b&w quality.
5. Cartridges are too expensive and last nothing!
I've been using a Canon BJC-240 for almost 6 years and the security it gives to me when I want to print a very important document has no comparison with the Lexmark. No paper jams, easy to find and not expensive cartdriges. My suggestion, don't buy this printer, get a HP or a Canon. It won't matter how old your HP or Canon is, surelly it will work better than the Lexmark.
You're Getting Exactly What You Pay For.......2004-07-10
A cheap printer that prints. No more, no less. I will admit that the print quality is actually pretty decent considering the low price. It's ok for occasional home printing. If you're going to be doing anything more than that, go for a better printer. The biggest disadvantage that I found is the cost of the ink cartidges. They are rather expensive. It's also not most sturdy machine. It broke after two years of "OCCASIONAL" use. Like I said, you get what you pay for.
Poor Photo Quality Prints.......2004-01-20
As a standard printer for text and graphic illustrations, it's very capable. The ink cartridges do not last very long though, and they typically cost between $25 to $35 U.S. Dollars. Forget about cartridge refill kits, because the chip has to be reset, which for all intents and purposes impossible. Generic ink cartridges do not work dependably, and often don't work at all. Color and black and white photo prints are lousy. You can see each pass that the ink jets have made in the form of horizontal bars. And in between those passes is a blank area about 1/4 of a millimeter.

Nuff said. Through it away and buy a real printer. One that won't eat your wallet and produce clunky, sopping, streaking prints. Never ever... Im serious... those who disagree are either doups, idiots or have no point of refference... never under any circumstances let a friend buy anything by lexmark that uses ink. Do yourself a favor and cut your finger and write the document in blood before you buy one of these junkers. They love to spend your cash in the form of ink tanks and they have the worst paper feed in the industry... even next to brother... did I mention they're slow and they're clunky. If you had a lexmark on a table next to an HP... and printed anything you'd have to be a dumb iss to preferr the lexmark. Nuff said. I've sold these things for 5 years and I've seen the returns and the pissed off customers enough! Stop buying crap! also dell printers are made my Lexmark... and never call them Lay-mark... I hate that when idiots pronounce lexmark lay-mark... can you read... are you french or american you moron? LEX MARK... say it once aloud for me LEX MARK
