The Whirlwind PA-1 is a high output, low distortion, portable monitoring device suitable for critical listening in any professional audio environment. The PA-1 accepts either balanced or unbalanced stereo, line level signals through parallel XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs. A switch changes the input connector configuration from separate balanced inputs to combination unbalanced (Tip/Pin2 = Left, Ring/Pin3 = Right) for accepting signals from sources such as headphone jack outputs. Powered by two 9 volt batteries that load into easy access drawers or with external AC power supply (included). Applications: • Headphone distribution systems • Sign language interpretation or language translation (The superior sound quality will reduce ear fatigue when working over extended periods of time) • Adding headphone monitoring to any piece of audio equipment • Boosting weak headphone output in high SPL environments

As an alternative, you can also connect the XTR2 tuner directly to you stereo's input jack (if it has one) with a separately sold patch cable for the best possible sound quality. Additional features include a docking cradle with a suction mount that holds the XTR2 at an easily accessible angle; a wireless remote for controlling the tuner from a distance; a sleep timer and traditional alarm; and a parental control function that lets you restrict access to Sirius' more off-color content.

Finally, if you'd like to enjoy satellite radio at home, the XTR2 is also compatible with separately sold home or portable boombox kits. The XTR2 tuner, which measures 2.56 by 4.56 by 1.44 inches (W x H x D), is backed by a one-year warranty on parts and labor.

Poor Customer Service .......2006-12-14

I love satellite radio but I would be cautious about buying an Xact unit. Xact products carry a 12 month warranty. At exactly 13 months the unit stopped working. Xact customer service informed me they were no longer responsible for the unit. Before buying this product search the web and you will find many "13 month" stories. Instead, I would suggest buying directly from Sirius.

Love it! Feels like in an ipod........2006-01-05

I love this radio. It handles just like an ipod. The three wires come out the bottom, which i have taped together. As I'm driving I can take it out of the holder and hold it just like an ipod to change the channels and read display. I'm really glad I picked this radio.

The sound quality is great. i have it hooked to my car radio via an aux input, which i reccomend.
