HGA7S Antenna Does the Trick.......2007-12-21
I was having wireless netowrk reception problems in some areas of my house with my Lynksys WRT54GC router. The router had an option to add this antenna. After using this for about a month now, I can really say wireless signal reception has been enhanced. The signal is measurably stronger (my TIVO boxes register a 70% signal instead of 40 - 50%) and I can use my laptop with no problem in my kitchen, which used to be a dead spot. Easy to install. I really recommend this product if you're having signal issues with your Linksys wireless router.

The antenna was extremely simple to set-up with the Linksys router. It pretty much does what I bought it for - extending the range of the router to reach deeper into my house.

Although this is a Linksys-branded antenna that is certainly much longer than the antenna that comes with Linksys routers, this add-on actually made my in-home signal worse! It is either defective, or this whole product line is simply not worth the money.

I set up a linksys wireless router at my mother-in-laws house but was disappointed with its range. Her office and cable modem were set up in a corner of the basement and sigal strength was low on other floors. I installed the high gain antenna in a few seconds and it really boosted the signal strength. She can now access her network anywhere on the first two floors. Cheap and easy upgrade.

I purchased this for my WRT54GC wireless router, and honestly I saw no "significant" gain. I think these devices are tested in wide open areas, and this doesn't really simulate how it will behave inside of a house. Don't exactly know what to recommend. Maybe one of those professional expensive boosting devices, but this is really not worth it.

Excellent system, it's great in the frigid winter of Maine.
One thing to note is that the installation cost me $250 more, although I suppose if you were electrically inclined you could do it yourself.
