The DFB-A5 is designed to work with DV camcorders, mice, keyboards, external CD-R/RWs, external hard drives, PC cameras, and any other USB or Firewire enabled device. It is 40 times faster than previous USB adapters with Hi-Speed USB 2.0 support and supports up to 400Mbps with integrated Firewire in one convenient upgrade package for desktop computers. Each of the two USB 2.0 ports transfers data at 480Mbps, making it ideal for external storage, backup, networking and digital video. The DFB-A5 is certified to USB 2.0 standards and is backward compatible with USB 1.0 and USB 1.1. The DFB-A5's three Firewire ports support transfer rates up to 400Mbps, making it ideal for home video editing using Digital Video (DV) ready camcorders and external storage solutions. This product does not install easily on windows xp. It created conflicts on my machine. It is definitely not "plug and play." I would not purchase this product. D-Link tech support was unwilling to work through conflicts on my device manager. In the process of installation I lost all usb connections entirely.
