The 1 GB Sansa m240 will hold approximately 16 hours of CD-quality MP3 tracks (encoded at 128kps) or 32 hours of WMA tracks (at 64kbps). It's compatible with MP3, WMA, secure WMA, and Audible audio file formats. The backlit LCD screen shows ID3 tag information for the currently playing track (song title, artist and album). Navigate the music on your player with ease, sorting by artist, album, song title, playlist or other criteria. With five equalizer types, you can optimize your sound for your favorite style of music, such as, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Pop, and Custom (user-defined). Keep the music coming with up to 19 hours continuous playback using one AAA Battery.
FM Radio
The m240 includes a digital FM radio tuner for portable radio listening. Easily access your favorite stations by adding them to one of the 20 presets.

Ease of Operation

bought this for a 9 yr old girl - she loves it! i read that some people have had problems with this device `freezing'. i upgraded the firmware from the scandisk web site and haven't had any problems. good, inexpensive player.

I had a 512 mg sansa player that worked wonderfully. but after 2 years of almost daily use playing audio books it wore out. This 240 is a poor excuse for a replacement. It does not have the book friendly features of the 512.

The SanDisk Sansa is a great mp3 player. It is user friendly and holds a lot of music. It is not the most fancy but it plays music just like the others. It is easy to use the software to download music. It comes with everything you need and is a great player for younger kids.

Pros: I bought this Sansa MP3 player on the black Friday of 2007. After using for more than a month, I am pretty much satisfied with the product.
The sound quality is very good. The "Play Music" option has sub-options. You can select option to play by genre, song, playlist, or album...I didn't expect these so convenient functionalities with such a cheap MP3 player like this. Awesome!
Cons: Doesn't have a rechargeable battery. The player takes more power from the battery so the battery lasts less time than the spec says.
The play/pause function gets frozen if switched so fast, and I have to restart the whole thing (turn off and on back).

Okay first off when my 512 MB SanDisk MP3 player broke I then returned and saw this Sansa SanDisk 1 GB for a sweet deal of $59.99 the same price for the 512 MB(this was 1 year ago) So I then decided to get this Sansa Sandisk m240 1 GB silver so then i bought this and got home and loaded it up with 436 songs and as I was listening to this I thought it was a great MP3 player the sound was great and everything till after a week then the troubles happened. So then I turned this on one day and their was no sound at all(i checked the headphones they worked fine on my stereo) so then i kept trying to get the sound back nothing did it i tried everything i tried connecting to the computer no good using new heaphones no good nothing worked so then i looke up this on their website none of the posts helped at all, and then i called their number to ask how to fix it so then the person i was talking to i could hardly not understand what he said but he said for me to try to listen to the FM radio so i tried that doubting it would work and i was right it didnt work so bassicly i then returned this and got a C240 1 GB MP3 player that now the headphone jack fails and i have to plug the headphones in funny to get sound on both sides but now i have gotten a apple iPod 3rd Gen. Nano the new video ones no more Sandisk for me. I say if you want Sansa go for the 4 GB Video one or go for the c240 2GB for only 50 bucks or the one i got for the same price as this color screen everything or just get an iPod or anything whatever bad buy bad bad bad the only reason i rated it 2 stars was how much i liked it at first

I have had 3 Sandisk mp3 players, 2 of them were this model. Ouch!
Nothing but problems. couldn't save my place in a book, and when turned on couldn't hear the sound until turned off and on again.
Don't get this, I messed up trying again on it. Big mistake.
2 out of 3 bad, is too big a risk.

I got tired of using my son's old mp3 player and I broke down and bought my own. I love it, it holds plenty of songs, its easy to use and it has an FM tuner on it. I can take it to the gym and listen in to whatever they have on tv (using the FM tuner) or play my own playlist. I love it.

So the other day I decided to breakdown and purchase an MP3 player. My first choice was to look at the ipods and see what they had to offer. I liked the ipod shuffle because of its size, but it was lacking. What is great about the Sansa m240 is that it has the same memory, BUT it has a display, FM tuner, and a voice recorder. These were not the main features that caught my attention though. The nice thing about the Sansa m240 is that it takes a AAA battery that lasts about 17-18 hours, and doesn't need the fruity itunes format. I have a ton of MP3's on my PC and I don't want to spend my time converting them in any way. All one needs to do is plug in the usb port and drag the tracks you want. Simple as that. It's a small player and is lightweight. I'm glad they were sold out of the 1gb ipod shuffles because I'm not a big fan of Apple products. Apple is like the metric system in the computer world, it's simple to convert but everyone else is standard.

The Uniden Clock Radio Scanner is a multi-featured conventional channel scanner allowing you to store and then scan up to 100 channels distributed over 10 banks. Other features include a service search and weather scan, listening to TV on the radio (channels 2-13), and an alarm clock with snooze function. With channel memory, this unit scans frequencies at a rate of up to 60 channels per second to help you find the channel you're looking for. This clock radio scanner has all the functions of regular radio/alarm clock. The scanner, in standby mode, displays the time. The alarm clock can sound up to 20 minutes or be shut off manually. A convenient snooze button lets you silent the alarm for an extra five minutes.

The Clock Radio Scanner's LCD lighted display can be enabled or disabled. A key touch-tone sounds to confirm you've made a valid key input while another tone alerts you of an invalid entry. I messed around with it for hours until I realized it doesn't scan frequencies unless you hold the scan button down. Maybe mine was faulty, but I couldn't find anything in the instructions to indicate it scans without holding the button down. I e-mailed Uniden about the problem, and the company didn't reply. So I sent it back. A scanner that won't scan is virtually worthless.
