Great phone but perhaps not for the novice.......2007-10-13
I have owned my WIP330 for about six months now and I am very happy with it despite the quirks and problems it can raise.
Most people, just enter their local network login details, SIP details from their VOIP providers, switch it on and it just works. You may be one of those people.
However, some other users find the phone difficult to set up and a reasonable familiarity with networking and SIP protocols does make life easier if you enter all the details and it refuses to connect up. Sipgate and some other VOIP companies offer dedicated support for this device and that makes it much easier to get going.
It is certainly fussy over which router is used with it, as well as which radio channel is used. I have access to four routers and it connects up and stay connected to two of them with no problems, two of the others cause disconnects periodically, who knows why. The battery life is poor and nothing like the sixty hours claimed. Linksys support can best be described as... poor.
On the good side, call quality is superb, the phone looks uber cool, it can connect to hot spots requiring web based log ins - hotels, cafes etc - it is the only SIP phone on the market today that offers this. With a firmware downgrade (yes) or some tweaking it can connect to and use Skype; it can be used as a monitor for certain netcams and display live video, you can upload ringtones and desktop pictures, it has an excellent and comprehensive phone book and all these things can be accessed easily from your PC via your web browser. All the settings, network, SIP, phone book, ringtones, desktops can be back up to and restored from the PC. If you fancy browsing the web with a screen 2" by 1.5" then it can do that too.
So on balance if you are a reasonably techy person (or have access to one) and are looking for a wireless IP phone to use at public wifi hot spots as well as at home then there is no better phone available. I would not be without mine.
Oh yes, and the latest firmware upgrade - and the firmware is regularly upgraded - now offers support for Wireless-N routers, I think that no other SIP phone offers this.

This phone works like a charm. Once you figure out which settings you need to set on it based on your VOIP provider, it works great. Just make sure you have a solid connection to your wifi source. Broadvoice provides good support of how to program the phone. I've had it for about a month now and I'm so glad I do have it. I'm thinking of dropping Verizon and not getting a cell phone. Granted there are no common programs on the phone, such as an alarm, calculator, etc, but it is so much cheaper in the long run to own this than pay for cell phone service. Love it!
never buy this device.......2007-08-30
I have bought two WIP330 recently (not on amazon). This device is an unfinished product full of bugs and holes. I am unable to use it normally. Even updating to latest firmware did't fix anything, all noticable bugs still present from the huge bunch of bugs.
In details:
Can't normally send DTMF signals
Restarts time to time
Battary's low very very shortly
Sometimes display stays illuminated after being idle
Sometims it's impossible to turn off or on without pulling out battary
Something is strange with outgoing/incoming calls list
etc etc
and many many other bugs

I JUST BOUGHT THE PHONE, AND SOME OPTIONS ARE MISSING IN IT. TRY TO CONTACT LINKSYS SUPPORT IS IMPOSSIBLE. AFTER DAYS WAITING I GOT THE EMAIL FROM THEN TELLING ME THAT I HAVE TO RETURN THE PHONE TO THE SELLER.

A terrbile execution of what should be a stellar product........2006-12-25
I have purchased two different batches of these phones, 20 in all. I have used them with 3 different VoIP providers (Telasip, AxVoice and ThinkBright) as well as two different internal VoIP systems (Asterisk and a router with SIP server built in). The quality control on these phones is TERRIBLE. 2 arrived with no sound at all. They were replaced by the reseller. ALL (every single one) of these phones lock up intermittantly. They all lose their registration with their SIP server on and ongoing basis. Often times, the only way to reestablish registration one must factory reset the phone and completely reconfigure it. The wireless range and quality is also terrbile. Battery life? Terrible. Man, this phone could and should have been great, but alas the greatness ended with the idea.

Great portable drive but unreliable.......2007-04-18
I worked great for me until I wanted to copy a 10GB file from my laptop's hdd to this portable drive. It always hanged my OS whenver I tried. I plugged the drive into the other PC and tested it with another large file and it did the same thing, freezing my PC. Certainly, the drive was formatted with NTFS to support files over 4GBs. I ran WD diagnostic tools and it reported OK.

WD 160MB compact external hard drive is an excellent choice for those who need to carry a lot of info/files either be music, video or other type in your pocket.
Extremely easy to use. This hard drive is a top notch performer.
