It's very simple: The only page I printed out of this printer was the test page. I tried to print a color pix and it immediately jammed and it was a HARD jamm (instructions were of no help) so I had to return it 3 hours after I bought it, totally disgusted...

had this thing about 5 months.... every single time i use it i waste 5 sheets of paper due to jams.. it jams every time i use it. do your self a favor and avoid this one at all costs.. also when powering up this unit gets extremely hot. it also causes my lights to flicker when i turn it on and i have it connected to a 20 amp circuit.
stay far far away from this one.
update just spent 2 hours trying to print one precious photo... printer just got demolished with a sledgehammer tomorrrow im buying a real one!!!!!!!!!
OK printer for the money.......2007-12-21
Very small color laser with pretty fast print speed. Paper handling is not the best, and color profile/matching is not good enough for photos, but for the basics it is a great performer. Printer was detected automatically under OSX 10.5 and linux, samsung drivers work well under windows.
Finally an affordable color laser that is not a "Winprinter" and works with Linux.......2007-12-17
In the past, most "cheap" Laser printers were so because those were "Winprinters" that is, printers where the internal circuitry and logic was replaced by drivers on the PC. Those "Winprinters" worked on Windows only.
So if you used Mac OS-X or Linux or any other non-Microsoft operating system you had to buy a high-end laser in the $700 to $1500 range. Well not anymore. Thumbs up for Samsung for coming up with this!.
It works with Linux flawlessly. I have succesfully configured it in my Dell 1420N which comes with Ubuntu 7.04 installed. Works like a charm. It also works on my home network with my desktop PC running Red Hat Enterprise Desktop (RHED) and Fedora.
If I had to find a downside, I'd say that (for now) the lack of availability of third party, "compatible" toners and refill kits.

I love my printer. It was easy to set up and put in the cartridges. It makes beautiful pictures and clear documents. Takes almost no time to warm up and print. It was shipped in a reasonable amount of time. For the money it is great. Only concern is the amount of wattage used and where I have it, it dims the lights sometimes.
