This is so much more effective for the needs of our small business than inkjet tecnyology. Seems very fast. Also replaces $1400 dot matrix used for PR checks. 600 sheet tray is indication that machine can be used for heavier jobs.

PROs: The HL-6050D has outstanding text quality at 600 DPI and well over 20 ppm output speed. We haven't tried the 1200 DPI setting since 600 DPI produces very sharp text. The duplex mode is wonderful--it will automatically collate and print books/booklets of any length. This is a heavy duty printer with many extra features and is well worth the cost. We don't know about long-term reliabilty yet, since we've only had it for about a week, but it does seem to be well designed and assembled. Easy software startup on WindowsXP. (Be sure not to connect printer cable until Brother printer install program asks for it.) It's simple to install more memory DIMMs and a network card.

CONs: Somewhat loud when printing, but it's okay for most office setups. Toners are about $90-100 for 7500 pages.
