If this was about half the size it would be MUCH better. I carry it in its case and it is nearly as large as my laptop bag. Works great but READ THE MANUAL FULLY or you will think it stinks! It is not intuitive at all and most of the complaints here are from users that obviously have not read the manual.
Brother PT-1650 Lebel Printer.......2007-10-25
Overall this is a versatile label printer with quite a few different types of label materials available. I was able to purchase label refills at Costco at a substantial savings over those advertised on the internet. My only complaint with this label printer is that each time you print a label, the machine advances the label a bit and tells you to cut it. Then it prints the label and you cut the label off. Each time you print a label, you are cutting off (wasting) about 3/4" of label. This seems a bit wasteful, especially on short labels.

First off, just like others have suggested... READ THE MANUAL If you read the manual front to back you will find the most efficient way to use the tape and plenty of hidden features and settings making the machine that much easier to use.
When you first purchase and start to use the machine plan on taking some time to do test prints and test using the included software. If you take some time to do this prior to going out in the 'field' you will be able to print out labels quick and efficiently.
Excellent selection of tapes, all necessary colors and sizes, up to 1". The TZ tapes selection and sizes are a big improvement over the older TC tapes. Yes the tapes can get a little expensive but find a online discount store with free shipping and your going to save lots on the tape.
If something needed to be changed it would be the ease of use, there is a learning curve and I could see some getting frustrated easily, so a little easier to use would be helpful. Also, why can't we print directly from the software seems it would be a simple software fix in the machine.

This is a great label printer. I first saw it on one of those home-organization shows.
It prints labels from 1/4" to 1" wide, up to the length of the tape. The TZ labels it takes come in several colors (white, flourescent orange, yellow, red, clear, etc.) and types (basic laminated, strong adhesive, strong adhesive flexible [for labeling cables, etc.], tamper evident [which show if someone has tried to peel-off the label], etc.).
The specialized label tapes can be pricey, but the instruction manual tells you how to save tape with different printing methods.
I've had this label maker for almost 2 years and have never had a problem with it. I highly recommend it.
Mediocre at Best.......2007-06-10
Industrial? Looks tough but bump the edge and the tape/battery cover falls off. This makes accessibility to this compartment effortless. The machine feeds about an inch of tape that you need to cut off everytime you print, which leaves alot of wasted labling tape. No doubt this works out well for Brother. The cutter is akward to operate and very sensitve to "cutting errors" which require more feeding, cutting, and waste. Again if the machine is anything less than stationary during printing or cutting there will be an error. There is a way to bypass the waste by using consecutive blocks of text but this proves unreliable at best. About 75% of the time the machine will give a print error indicating text height or length is too high/long even though it is exactly the same as the previous printed block. I can't help but think this glitch is not an engineering flaw but instead a design programmed to increase the propietors profits in labeling tape(the real expense of the machine). The labels aren't too bad but getting the label backing off is a chore best left to those with excellent dexterity, a good pair of reading glasses, and sharp fingernails. The ergonomics of the unit are poor to include the keypad, cutter, and frequently used keys. Accessing symbols is tedious and time consuming so be sure to save the ones you use frequently. The software...still looking into it but it doesn't seem to be of much worth after a preliminary review. Otherwise the machine is a true marvel and pleasure to use. Thank you Brother...NOT!

I like these phones. I usually buy cheap uniden phones. I bought a set of these for my house. My aunt liked them so much I bought her a pair for Christmas. The work great and reception goes way down the street. I'm very happy with these phones. They don't have the flashiest of menus but they are solid performers with clear reception and long range.

So far we love this phone. It is very clear reception and has alot of very cool features. The ring tones are great and i particularly love the fact that you can program one handset with numbers and copy to ALL. The flash button and the speaker phone is easy to access.

I've had these a couple of months now and am very happy with them. I like the way the caller I.D. and messages come through the handsets. The menu system in the handsets is easy to operate and I haven't needed to look at the manual to learn how to operate the phones. I hoped the range would be a bit longer, it's about 100 feet with the handset outdoors and base station located inside. I also like the larger numbers on the keypad.
