Poor quality and poor support.......2007-08-23
I am doing Underwater Photography and wanted to have an 'off-camera' storage+viewer; this product was cheaper than the 'professional ones' so I bought it.
Good things:
1. Plays almost any video format (including DivX)
2. Good size product - pretty small.
BAD THINGS:
1. Product works ONLY with CF Type I (thin) cards; CF Type II are too 'thick' for it.
2. Little 'joystick' that is used for majority of operations works very strangely. Having a Computer Science background, it took me a while to figure out how to work the device. Overall UI is OK, but...
3. No support to RAW format (honestly, did not expect it)
4. Takes FOREVER to load large images (at times you think it is hung).
5. Does not play some MPEG-4 (very few of them do).
REAL BAD THING(S):
I could not get the Video/Audio output to work! ANYTHING I TRIED - could not get the image/sound on TV. Not too much about it in the manual.
I called support - ABSOLUTELY NO ATTEMPT FROM COBY's side to help. Basically 'send us the unit; we will send you another one in a few month' - totally unacceptable!!!
OVERALL: RETURNED THE PRODUCT - VERY POOR QUALITY!

Bad reception .......2007-05-03
We bought three of these and they were horrible. the ear buds hurt our ears and the reception was very bad. During the Busch race I tried to fix the cutting out problem but it seems to lie in the design of the switch on the scanner for some reason it move out of position so beyond holding pressure on the switch to keep it on there is no other way to get it to work right.
How Did This Ever Get Approved???.......2006-04-04
Normally I review STRICTLY books...but this product annoyed me so much, I had to review it. I took this scanner to the Martinsville race this past weekend and was VERY disappointed. I was under the impression the headset was attached to the scanner, but instead you get a cheap pair of headphones that are inserted into your ears, and the earmuffs go over them to muffle the noise.
Well, throughout the race the earpieces kept falling out of my ears, and I spent pretty much all of the race trying to adjust them so I could hear. And the signal was very poor. While I picked up the local radio stations with clarity, the race stations were muffled and kept cutting out. Luckily I have an extra race headset, and am hoping that it'll work with the scanner.
Also, whenever you change the batteries, you need to re-program all the drivers back into the scanner. This REALLY made me mad seeing as how I had to change batteries in the middle of the race, then sit there and re-program in 30-something drivers while also trying to pay attention to the race that I paid to see.
Overall, I can't believe Nascar approved these scanners. They are poorly constructed, and are pretty much glorified walkmans. If I wanted a walkman, I wouldn't have paid $149 for one. Hopefully I can use it with a real headset, but we'll see. The only thing this scanner has going for it is that it looks good, but in the end, I'm just really unhappy with this product.
good looks, little performance.......2006-03-30
I love the look of the Dale Jr. scanner and headset. I hate the scanner itself. I took the scanner to the Bristol Race last weekend. I could not pick up the local race frequency. I could only tune in to a few drivers. Most of all, general reception was horrible. This item should have never been sponsored by NASCAR or their drivers. You can get a great scanner, with great reception at radioshack for $99.99. NASCAR should have just sold the headsets, without the scanner.
Horrible scanner!.......2006-02-28
I had this scanner at the track this past weekend and was very disappointed!! You couldn't make out what was said by the driver/crew and I had the volume all the way up. The radio station the race was on didn't even come in clear. May be a problem with the antenna?
Show your love.......2005-08-30
This set will show everyone at the track who you are rooting for right away. The scanner itself is pretty cool, the front shell slides down to reveal the numbers to punch in for frequencies. It is not preprogrammed. You can store frequencies (I did mine by driver number), but if you change the batteries, they have to be redone (minus one star). I have a hard time keeping the earbuds in my ear, they fall out everytime I try to put the headphones on over top (minus the second star).

Good Phones.......2007-12-28
Bought these phones after not having any luck with another set of phones I bought on Amazon. The voice caller ID is somewhat comical because of the way ID's get pronounced, but it is still quite helpful as far as I'm concerned. I like the feature that allows you to enter your address book in one phone and send it to all the other phones. Many multi-set phones make you enter your address book in each phone. As of now I am still experimenting with some of the many features offered by the phone.
I absolutely love these phones!!! .......2007-12-21
I love these phones. Everything works perfectly. I love that I can trasfer the phone book from one phone to all the others. Quality is great. Buy these phones!
Perfect Phone for the price.......2007-11-25
Easy to set up and have very convienent features.I use min efor the whole house and the sound is exceptionally clear. A great buy.
Works perfectly........2007-10-24
I had moved into a three level house and needed more than the one receiver cordless phone I had. A friend of mine recommended getting a model from Panasonic. After looking at the features I choose the KX-TG6054B. After setting it up (a very simple process) it worked like a charm. It does make me laugh when a call comes in and the voice announces the number. Very useful, however, since I don't have to get up to find a "out of area" call that I'm not going to answer anyway.
The only minor fault is that I wish there was a way to transfer the numbers I put into memory on one receiver to the other receivers as well. (I understand why technically this would be very difficult.)
I can't believe all the five-star reviews.......2007-10-23
I've been a loyal Panasonic answering machine (AM) customer for years, and have always owned Panasonic AMs. Granted this is not a stand-alone AM dedicated and more features), I am dissapointed with this model for the following reasons:
1. Keypad is not backlit. What if you're in a situation in the dark with a nutcase in the house, how are you going to dial a call without turning on the light and giving away your location?
2. AM does not show number of calls received. This is a problem in more ways than one.
3. AM records dial tone when people don't leave msgs. That can chew up all your recording time if you're on a long trip, and make you miss an important call.
4. AM does not have room monitor. My older Panasonic AM does. It's a cool feature where you can call in and monitor the sounds in you home.
5. Security code is only two digits and a kid with time on his hands can call, and hack your system before your found out. For example other manufacturers provide 4-digit codes.
It doesn't take much cost to provide basic AM features when they can be designed and manufactured on a chip for pennies, and integrated into different models. Panasonic used to have AWESOME phone AM features but they have gone down the tube. Not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that these machines are now made in China, i.e. if they are using cheap Chinese designers whereas in the past, they were designed and made in Japan.
This one is going back to the store tomorrow.
