Not that good of a package, better ones out there... .......2005-12-21
Your review of this package will be based on your personal use for this product... But there are certainly better options out there for around the same price... I have a computer that is integrated into my car and i planned on using this unit with it... however, many failed attempts, the software had a hard time detecting the GPS mouse... if you are a fan of MS Streets and Trips, then buy the bundle that comes with a MS GPS mouse.. they are more easily compatible with no problems..So right away i sold my software and picked up iGuidance 2.1...much better software, with voice and 3D capabilities...
Moving on to the GPS unit, i used it once and then it just died on me.. after searching online and figuring out what it could be, the 6010 has an internal battery (round watch battery)... helps with cold and warm boots... but with the battery dying out, it would not lock on any satellites... but i admit that when it does lock, it is very accurrate... i plan on upgrading to a GlobalSat GPS unit... when the rikaline locked it was golden... otherwise, just a nice fridge ornament...
AWESOME GPS and Mapping.......2005-09-15
Cool GPS/Mapping software. I run it on a p2 laptop with 64 mb ram in my cruiser and love it. It does have a few cons though,
1) If I am tracking my position, leaving a trail, keeping the map centered and rotating to fit direction of travel at the same time, It wont zoom without crashing the program. but with only 64 mb ram Im still impressed.
2)It fails to keep up at 117 MPH.
