The unit accommodates up to eight handsets, while the all-digital answering system with auto attendant can be occupied by up to four users simultaneously. Meanwhile, the system's dual caller ID with call waiting lets you see who's calling on any line.
The KX-TG4000B base unit and each cordless handset communicate in both directions using 2.4 GHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) transmission. FHSS technology improves calling range and clarity while eliminating crosstalk. Because it rapidly changes transmission frequencies within the 2.4 GHz bandwidth, this cordless system also reduces the likelihood of eavesdropping.
The system operates via cordless transmissions, so no expensive (and messy) wiring or installation is required. Simply hook up the base to your phone lines and plug it into an AC outlet. Then, set up the included KX-TGA400B handset in the desired location and plug in the recharging stand. Up to seven more optional KX-TGA400B handsets can be added to the system.
The convenient, reliable, all-digital answering system includes many advanced features. The system offers a general delivery mailbox on the base unit, plus up to eight personal mailboxes--one for each handset. Each user can record a personal greeting, and can access individual mailboxes from any system handset or an outside line. You can set the answering system to automatically answer all incoming calls with a recorded greeting, or to route callers to a desired extension or mailbox. The KX-TG4000B allows for four separate voice paths, so four system users can access the messages at once.
The phone system also includes a digital duplex speakerphone with an eight-step volume control. Digital circuitry in the base unit helps reduce echo and the dropout effect for more natural-sounding conversations.
Dual caller ID with call waiting lets you view the name and number of all incoming callers on either the base unit or handset LCD--even if you're already on the line. This caller ID feature also stores up to 100 names on the base unit (up to 30 names on each handset), with direct callback capability. And thanks to the pager call function, you can even program the phone to notify your pager when you've received an incoming call, and to forward caller ID data to your pager's display. (Subscription to caller ID services is required.)
Other features include two-way intercom/paging, a lighted handset keypad, a headset jack in the handset, and a belt clip. The handset's integrated battery offers up to eight hours of talk time and up to 96 hours of standby life. The system is backed by a 90-day warranty.

and some sign of wear, these were the only bad things we found on the phone, but it did have something nice, a hold button, that the 2 line version of this phone does not have.

The maps were useful and plenty detailed, however not all of them were current or up to date. It served as a starting point, however, I still had to purchase more current versions of the areas I needed from BLM and USGS
Good topo program, compatible with other software.......2006-03-26
Allows you to export tif images with GIS/CAD world files for easy upload into Programs such as Petra. Downside is that if you are looking at a large area, you have to continuously change out disks (there are 5 or 6 of them).
Money Wasted.......2005-05-12
This version is VERY OLD! The maps are from 1985 and do NOT include trail data. Get the Trails Illustrated maps instead, you'll be MUCH better off!

Awesome product.
The ability to see individual topo sheets is very useful, as is the ability to create custom seamed maps.
Dowloads of GPS waypoints to the computer, and the upload of GPS points fron the computer to the GPS unit is easy.
Customer support is phenomenal! They resopond quickly and personally answer your questions and even take recommendations on what might be nice additions for future updates (such as a Baja map set, or the addition of other datums besides NAD27)
