Terrible product terrible company - No Stars.......2006-05-23
HP put me through the ringer on this one. The did send me a replacement but it didn't work either. They kept us on the support line for hours. Faxing, shipping, etc etc. Then wouldn't refund the $80. It was a Christmas present for my son for God's sake. Unbelievable company. It never worked from the get go. I will never buy an HP product again.
I don't even want to give it one star. NO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I own a 20G HP ipod...well own is a relative term I think it has spent more time at Hp then with me. I realize this is a different item, but I would like to warn everyone. My original Ipod which I received Dec 2004 broke in March, and was sent back, due to it continually skipping through songs. I received another one from Hp which lasted until...November 2005. That one just crapped out and showed me a file with an exclamation point that meant..the Hard drive had crapped out..so once again I sat on the phone with HP for hours doing what they asked me to before they would agree to service it. So I again sent it back. Well now on my third Ipod in 13 months and guess what???? It too is broken. The click wheel wouldn't work, it froze on certain songs and the computer didn't recognize that it was plugged into it. So after spending hours on the phone with HP for the third time, they offered another refurbished replacement. After I continued to complain they told me there was nothing further to be done because none of the problems were related. I did ask how that had any relevance considering these were three differenct ipods two of which they had sent me as replacements..they had no answer. Only that if I had yet another problem, which I am confident I will..then they will try to offer some other trade. And you can forget about getting an extended warranty they will only give you an extra 30 days from the time you get the new one. Buyer Beware!!! I love my IPOD it's just unfortunate that I have had such a crappy time with its actual perfomance.

[...]it's exactly the same functionally and cosmetically as the Apple iPod Shuffle, except that there's an HP logo beneath the Apple logo on the back. [...] Your enjoyment of this player depends on how well you understand iTunes...if you know how to create playlists and such you'll find this quite a different listening experience. One star was deducted for lack of display and EQ settings, but the focus is on simplicity, and the random nature of the unit doesnt really require a display anyway...but it would have been nice. Overall its a pretty cool gadget with a better company's support system behind it. Pick it up soon, as of this review HP and Apple have decided to part ways and once these are gone, they're gone.

A powerful tabletop radio.......2007-12-23
Having previously been very happy with a Tivoli radio in California, I needed another for my place here on Kaua`i. Since I am well over 100 miles from the big stations on Oahu, and 10 miles and a mountain range from everything local, I needed something good to actually work. I was not disappointed.
The FM reception is superb even with the included short wire antenna, and with the addition of an outside antenna, the reception is astounding, better than my car radio. I can hear the tiny 250 watt Hawaii Public Radio translator from 115 miles away on Oahu, and many of the commercial stations despite 90 miles of open ocean and a mountain in the way.
For the AM side, it is wonderful for the two semi-local stations (on the other side of the island), but I added a Terk AM Advantange antenna and I have no problem listening to the AM stations on Oahu and even Maui, over 190 miles away. It's easy to hear Japan, Indo-China and even Australia at night as well, even though I would rather not, as they tend to interfere with the local signals. I never thought this would be a problem, although I'm not complaining really, it's just very sensitive and selective.
As others have said, the FM frequency response is quite good for such a small speaker, the highs sparkle and the bass is alive and almost too good. It is a big sounding little box. The on/off switch that goes to AM and then FM is a minor thing, and does not bother me. I like the old-style slide rule dial (I'm old fashioned, I guess), as I can literally "tune in" a station. It does not drift, so the lack of digital lock is not a problem.
So, if you live in a rural place as I do, this radio will not let you down, and if you live in town, it picks up everything with little effort.
This one is a keeper.

All the 5 star ratings are correct in their review that radio is top notch in sound (though a little boomy for some music types), style, and ease of use.
Only 4 stars because power switch should be like Tivoli's. Can be annoying to click through AM to get to FM side. I still believe this is the best of the bucn (Tivoli, Bose, BA).
Good Alternative to Tivoli and BA.......2007-06-08
This is a viable alternative to the Tivoli and Boston Acoustics models. Tivoli (to my ears) is best sounding of bunch. Boston Acoustics has two alarms and digital display. But both are $30-$60 more. Sangean has great FM reception; perhaps more bass than one would like (for classical and NPR news). Recommended.
one of the best hi fi table radios.......2007-05-17
This is without doubt one of the best table radios in regards to build quality, reception and sound quality. Competitive with Tivoli, Boston, Bose and others. Probably the best value overall among these. I replaced a 50 watt stereo receiver with high end stereo speakers with this to save space and with very good results. Tone level adjustments would be nice but not critical with proper placement depending on room acoustics. Highly recommended.
Fits the bill.......2007-05-13
I bought this radio for an elderly person whose eyesight is limited. Digital controls were impossible to cope with, but this radio was simple to turn on and tune. The sound quality is excellent. Only quibble I have is that the "walnut" cabinet turned out to be a light color more like birch, but that doesn't matter in this case. The recipient is quite pleased.

if you need to send faxes it is ok, the memory seems to get overloaded if you send more than 5-6 pages. the print quality on the recieve side i have found to be on the poor side and the auto fax answer switch mode does not work with my VOIP service. the copying is ok.
the phone is good, but, again, does not interact well with VOIP service and cannot indicate when i have voicemail waiting due to the interanl answering machine.
it comes with a rather limited print ribbon/film, so i would suggest getting an extra one if you decide on buying one of these units, and use it to recieve faxes.
just about acceptable for small home office use.
2-line Panasonic Fax.......2007-06-10
This machine is a nice size and shape. I am fairly technically apt, but I found the manual to be extremely complex. Since I am mainly using this machine to send faxes, I have not even bothered to figure out all the complex phone features yet, but have confidence that I will be able to when I need them. The thing that surprises me is the fax capacity. I thought this machine would handle at least 3-4 clean, wrinkle-free pages at a time, but it does not. I have to sit and feed the pages in one at a time or it takes 2 or 3 together or jams. I honestly thought it would do a better job. I guess it just isn't your big business fax at the office. I am satisfied, but certainly not thrilled.
Panasonic KX-FG6550 Phone/Fax machine.......2007-04-03
This is the second Panasonic phone /fax machine I've owned. I was satified with its performance and durability. The replacement unit is smaller (that's a good thing) and it looks good too. The remote hand receiver is easy to use and the sound is clear. The instruction manual on the other hand is complex and you have to carefully read it to set up the phone. Over all I'm happy with the product.
