Great scanner but not Vista compatible........2007-07-08
I've had this for 3 years with no problem until last month. A solid line is showing up on my scans about the thickness of a hair all the way down the page. It just got old I think. If you by it new it should work well, but there are so many new scanners for not much higher of a price I'm not sure if that's the best option. Please be aware if you upgrade to Vista the scanner will no longer work. Even the HP website says it has abandoned it.

Easy to install. Great directions. I liked the way the manufacturer took into account all possible TV's by sending many different machine screws to accomodate many television manufacturers. They did there homework.

The system operates on the 5.8 GHz frequency, which is able to offer clearer, more intelligible reception than cordless phones working on the more-crowded 900 MHz or 2.4 GHz bands. More significantly, the system--which comes with two cordless handsets and a spare charging cradle--can be expanded up to 10 total handsets using only a single phone jack, so you can place handsets in virtually any room in the home for the ultimate in telephone access. Ideal for large families or large households, the TRU-8885-2 keeps you connected at all times.
The phone's caller ID/call waiting function (subscription required) displays the name and number of an incoming caller even when you're on the phone with someone else. This function is particularly useful for busy phone users who anticipate important calls but don't want to interrupt their conversations unless absolutely necessary. In a related vein, the phone's base includes a 100-number caller ID log, while each handset stores up to 100 locations, so you can keep track of incoming calls and store the most important phone numbers for easy recall. And thanks to the display-and-dial function, all you have to do to call a stored number is scroll to the number and press the Talk button. Other handy dialing extras include 10 speed dial presets for quick calls to friends, family, and the local pizza joint and an alphabetical search feature that makes it easy to locate numbers stored in the internal memory.
The digital answering system, meanwhile, employs microchip technology--no cassettes or moving parts--to deliver crisp, easy-to-decipher messages time and again. Voice prompts help guide you through setup, while play/stop, skip, delete, and repeat keys make it simple to navigate through the messages. I bought this phone for my teenage son as a 2006 Christmas present and have no regrets. One of his friends has a monthly plan and exceeded his monthly hours and was charged $150. My co-worker's daughter exceeded her monthly hours and was charged $350. If you don't want an unexpected, unwanted additional phone overcharge go prepaid.
Overall, my son really likes his phone and it takes good pictures. He says the number 7 button sticks a little now but, the phone still works well.
