Truly Amazing For The Asking Price.......2006-09-18
This item is a must have, what a great alternative to the cost of the PoD.
The MP310 Truly Digital Player Pic' n Roll! is more than just an MP3 player! It not only plays your music, and you can pick from several equalizer settings for your listening pleasure, it has its own built-in FM radio, with really good reception. It also has an open voice, line-in, or directly from FM radio recording system and you can do all this while you listen. Truly includes a couple of games, you can add your favorite eBooks, and you can even add photos to view on the Truly Color Screen. Set the screen to go dark after your personal selected time and add your favorite photo for the wallpaper as a personal touch.
Surprisingly the menus are easy to navigate, for an item like this. Expect to refer to the manual, till you get everything you want out of the Truly system.
This item comes with very well built accessories; like the earbud headphones they are comfortable and even have there own volume control and are almost long enough to comfortably wear while The MP310 Truly Digital Player Pic' n Roll is in my pants pocket (well I can wear the right earbud no problem while the player is in my pocket but I am over six foot tall). The charger is top of the line and it has a built in led. You even get a short patch cord 1/8" ends that can be used as a hard line-in for recording from your CD player or Hi-Fi, you may want to get a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter to directly plug into a standard headphone or microphone jack.
Inclosing this is not just an MP3 player, It Is A Personal Digital Media Device.
Decent Player.......2006-03-11
I use the Pic N Roll every day at work to play music continually throughout the day, and I have to say it works pretty well. My only concern is there is no "screensaver" function so the LCD is continually lit. You could probably get more battery life if it had that option, but again it's a minor complaint.
I will admit the headphones aren't the best but hey they're free. I bought this for the player, not the headphones.
Not a dependable unit.......2006-03-09
Upon receiving the MP3 player everything worked as expected. However, the unit kept indicating that the battery was not fully charged, even though it was charged overnight. Now it's come to the point where it won't hold a charge and the unit is therefore completely useless. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this MP3 player: it lacks dependability. It only uses USB 1.0 (slower) to load music and photos ... not the faster USB 2.0 I'm sending it back.

Earphones fall apart in about 4 weeks, wire length for earphones is way too short to even place in a pocket, easily gets scratched, easily gets dented, hard to navigate, cheap menues, dont buy it or else youll regret it.

I know that Teac bills this as a "table radio" and not a "clock radio", but I bought it to replace my aging clock radio anyway. I will say that this radio sounds great, and plays music from my iPod beautifully. However, others have mentioned before the two fatal flaws in its operation which will keep it out of my bedroom:
1) The volume control works very nicely in digital steps from 0 up to 40, however the timer requires that you set a wakeup volume, and it enforces a minimum of 10, which is way too loud for me. I still can't believe that Teac would make such an arbitray and stupid decision as this. Can there be a technical or behavioral reason why Teac engineers would prohibit me from setting a softer volume at wakeup? Why doesn't the timer just use the existing volume setting that I've already been using and obviously like, instead of overriding it? I can't for the life of me understand this decision of theirs.
2) No battery backup. If power fails during the night, all the radio and clock setting are lost within 30 seconds. Period. This omission alone I could have lived with as power failures are rather rare, but the blasting wakeup volume I mentioned above I certainly can't live with.
However, like I said, I like the radio as a radio and iPod speaker system, so I'm going to keep it for that purpose. However, I have to wonder about the Teac company - why they put the timer function into a great sounding radio, and then ruined its usefulness. Very mysterious and stupid of them.
There's a lot to like, but..........2007-02-04
Sturdy, well-built and well-priced. Having a remote is great. But the bass emphasis really distorts the music. When listening to bass-heavy pop/rock, I don't mind. When listening to jazz, acoustic or classical, it's really distracting.
I hope they release a future version that works as an alarm clock (with snooze button) and as a dock for synching. (It will charge the iPod, but there's no way to connect it to my computer so I can synch with iTunes.)

Pros: Good sound and fairly easy to use; unit looks nice; remote control; sleep feature- can fall asleep to radio or IPOD. Wake feature- awake to radio or IPOD
Cons: PLEASE believe me...display is WAY TOO BRIGHT for use as a bedroom clock-even at the "dim" setting. There is an alarm setting but no snooze button- this is advertised as a table radio NOT an alarm clock; you can use station presets but only access them from the remote; when the radio or IPOD is used for alarm- be prepared to get blasted out of bed-lowest setting is a 10. It ramps up the volume when the alarm goes off but it happens so fast it's still quite a shock.
