This player sounds great with aftermarket headphones or earbuds. I continually hear previously unrecognized details in my music...
The battery life seems fine, but I haven't used it for more than a couple hours at a time yet. I have charged it via the USB port on my computer. One very small gripe...It doesn't indicate when fully charged using this method. I leave mine in overnight, so I assume it's getting a full charge.
I don't use it for pictures or video.

This Cowon player is very compact and easy to use. The sound it produces is the best I ever heard. And I've used Ipod, Creative and heard Iriver's. I use it with a pair of Sennheiser earbudphones. I would recommend this player to anyone looking for a great sounding player.

Looks kinda cheap & unstylish - a bit like a cheap black hi-fi system from the late 80s, but the sound quality is very good and it's powerful enough to drive larger headphones. Audio files can be dropped straight onto it without any annoying software. Overall I'm happy with it - but I just can't fall in love with something that looks like a 10 yr old designed it! Curvy black plastic...hmm...
Be Aware! No Customer Service with Cowon Products.......2007-11-12
The Cowon iAudio U3 is an excellent product while it works, just be advised that I have found it difficult, if not impossible to contact Cowon for warrenty service on my iAudio U3. The sound failed after about 3 months of use. My emails to Cowon, a company who lists no phone numbers or addresses, remain unanswered with later attempts returned as undeliverable.

Audio quality is excellent - I use this w/ MDR-V6 headphones to filter out line noise and record. Use a SIIG CE-S00012, and you can get real clean audio out of your computer.

I now own four of these and have never had any trouble with them (I'm about to purchase a fifth one). Yes, they are made largely of plastic, but once you load them evenly they are stable and solid. I have even had to move them--loaded--around to reposition them and have had no difficulty. They are very convenient for storage, and its easy to find exactly what I'm looking for. And they look good.

I've purchased two of these and have yet to have a problem with either of them. I personally love them. Being able to see all of your movies at a glance as they go by while a light shines on it is really convienent and just plain awesome to look at. I've had one of them for over a year and a half and as I've said before, I've yet to see a problem. I got another since I finally ran out of room. Though I will admit they are a tad on the flimsy side, I fail to see how that can be avoided once you see how the whole thing works.
Once you get it you have to attach the stand, then you'll just have to extend all of the little arms and then just slide in the DVD and it'll firmly lock into place. It also fits just about every size of DVD case you have. Even the really tiny box sets you may own (like "Weeds", for example) fit right in. The DVD's that you own but have those collectors slip cases can also stay on the DVD and still fit. Games will, of course, fit as well. As long as it's very close to the size of a DVD case, no worries. I even managed to get the Collector's Edition of Doom 3 for Xbox to fit in mine (it's a special tin like DVD case) and it sticks out a bit, but it doesn't get in the way since there's a significant clearing under the unit as everything circulates.
I've never had the belt come undone, so I don't what to say about the other reviewers units. It does tell you to not overload it, though. For example, say you have about 40 or so DVD's, you shouldn't group those all together on one side, since it's hard on it (you can see it struggle a little when it's loaded like this) So you're just supposed to evenly spread them out over the unit. If you COMPLETELY overload it, it'll make a little beeping sound when you try to turn it. Perhaps this was the issue?
And you don't have to worry about the stability of the unit on carpet since that's where I have mine and they work perfectly. I realize this review practically sounds like I work for Sharper Image, but I just absolutely adore mine. If you decide that this is right for you, and think it's worth the money, then I highly reccomend it.
Flimsy but ok once it works.......2005-02-18
Being a tech crazy guy, i bought this tower from the sharper image store. As another reviewer has said, it is pretty flimsy. and it did come apart when loading the dvds - actually the moving belt that carries the dvds became unhinged. we had a short but definitely tough time putting it back together - partly because of the weight of the 80 dvds on the belt (we didnt want to pull them off and then put them back again!).
this seems to be an expected issue since the third step (i think) in setup procedure described in the instruction manual (more on THAT in a moment) described how to put the belt back together if it became unhinged.
the instruction manual is actually three or four pieces of cd-cover sized papers stapled together. the pages are glossy but thats all they're useful for (read, nothing!).
Once we put it back together, it has worked without any problems although it does give me a heartache when i see the dvds wobbling despite being snugly fit in their slots.
for 170 dollars one would have expected more (a lot more) metal but its almost all plastic. and if flimsiness is not an issue, go for it - does look very cool. no denying that!

We purchased the Power Tower DVD organizer today after seeing it in the catalog and actually operating it in the store. Yes, it was a little flimsy and more cheaply made (plastic) than we would have liked for $169 but it seemed like such a great idea. We should have trusted our first instincts - it broke while we were loading it with our DVDs. The turning mechanism no longer turns, the motor just hums. It's going back to the store tomorrow - save your money!

This unit works extremely well as a Skype phone. I have not noticed any range problems when using it throughout my home. It conveniently recharges through any mini-USB cable, so no wall-warts or other cords are required. Sound quality is good, no better or worse than most cordless handsets. The icons on the blue-backlit screen are intuitive. Integration with the Mac Skype client is very good. Scrolling through the contacts on the phone will also scroll them on the Mac client at the same time. The ringtone is customizable, but there is no way to adjust it's volume as far as I could find. The unit is comfortable to handle and appears well made. The charge on the two included AAA rechargeable batteries lasts for over a week in stand-by. The USB wireless dongle is about 3 inches long and a little wider than the USB connector. I had no reception problems with it mounted on the back of my Cinema display.

This telephone really complements the decor in our kitchen. The phone works just fine and though it looks antique it operates with all the modern conveniences. I do miss the memory dial feature from our previous phone, however. I like the quieter "doctors office" ring tone. It is not near as jarring. Overall, I am very pleased with this phone.

Absolutely has exceeded my expectations right out of the box, so far. I should probably wait until I've really played around with this device a bit more but so far it's amazing. I paired it up with my BlackBerry Pearl 8100 and right away it was on the ball. Using the Google Maps app on my BB, it said it had located my position within 20 meters. I switched over to the satellite view in Google and zoomed in on my current location. Baloney! It was more like 20 inches! It showed my position to be not only in the correct parking lot but the exact parking space I was in!
I've got another app loaded up on the Pearl for a bit of after work playtime and I'm anticipating nothing but great results thanks to the BT-328. Very impressive performance so far for not a lot of money. I can't wait to really test it out with my MacBook and see how the data logging goes. Sweet!
