Worldmap Mapsource.......2007-06-02
The maps provived provide excellent detail, having checked it out with my trip taken in 2000 and 2004.
Furthermore, the proof of the pudding comes this sept when i go to China.
Complete WASTE of money.......2007-04-12
Background on my use of Garmin products: First, let me say that I have been VERY HAPPY with my Garmin GPSMap 60CSx and using the CitySelect North America road maps for driving directions, finding restaurants, driving to a manually entered address, etc. I had been using them for 12 months when I got ready to leave on a trip to Europe for business.
Why did I start shopping for this product? Before I left on my trip, I had a hard time deciding if it would be worth the $350 to get the Europe MapSource. In addition to stops in the UK and Spain, we were scheduled to visit somewhere in Africa, too. We would only be in each country for a couple of weeks, so I didn't think it would be worth spending the money on the European MapSource.
Why did I end up buying this product? As a compromise, I thought this World Map (I bought version 3.02) would at least give me the base map and major roads and highways. My expectation was that it would not have anywhere near as much data or detail in it as the North America MapSource, but I expected what data it DID have would be ACCURATE. Boy was I wrong.
Where and how long did I spend evaluating this product overseas? I spent one week in England, driving to and from London and Plymouth. I spent three weeks in Rota, Spain (near Cadiz / southwest of Seville). Our trip to Africa was canceled, so we got to spend a glorious week in Lisbon, Portugal instead.
What were my observations about this World Map? As I stated before, I expected that the things that were in there would at least be plotted correctly / accurately. I expected that with the GPS at least showing me where I was in relation to major landmarks and holding a paper map in my hand, I would be able to have a general feel for where I was on the paper map. It was not so.
In the places I visited (UK, Spain, Portugal), it was extremely inaccurate. For example, I would be a quarter mile on the NW side of the Thames river, and it would show me as being a quarter mile SE of the Thames river.
The major highways it does show are not labeled the same as they are labeled when you are driving around. This was particularly frustrating in Spain. I would try finding street signs that would lead me to a major highway labeled as one thing on the GPS, but I would never find any signs with the same label as on the GPS, because they use totally different names.
In summary, the geographic positions of what is included in this world map are significantly off and inaccurate, and the labels on the major highways don't match the actual names on the highways in the UK, Spain, and Portugal.
In hindsight, I wish I would have either spent the extra money on the European MapSource, or just saved the money and not bought anything at all. This was a total waste.
Fair - Could be Better.......2007-01-05
Fair general purpose maps but for obvious reasons lacks detail. It would be difficult to provide highly detailed maps of every country in the world but I was hoping for something in the middle. I used this CD for a recent trip to Mongolia and it worked well enough but did not have certain ponds and rivers. Would be nice if they can team up with Google Earth to make maps.
Good data for SE Asia.......2004-01-20
I used the database on my Garmin 76S in Thailand, Vietnam & Laos and found that the data was quite accurate. It even has many of the old Lao 'Lima Site' airfields!
OK but no cigar.......2001-07-26
I bought this to use with my Garmin eMap. For the USA the detail level is the same as came preinstalled on the unit--major highways. I've used it in London, Cambridge, Paris, Tokyo and Munich. There isn't really enough detail to find your way around any of these cities but it is useful for e.g. finding your way from suburb to suburb. The River Cam wasn't very close to where the map had it so it helps to use one's eyes. The maps are dated. We are developing a site in the high Andes near San Pedro de Atacama for the ALMA telescope--the map of that region did not show the Jama Road from Calama to Salta Argentina, a major international route (admittedly less than a decade old--but paved!).

Home-Theater is a wonderful thing. Unfortunately you can get bogged down with a whole basket of remote controls to operate all the TV and sound equipment. There's an effective and reasonable alternative that can help make your life and home-theater use much easier. Unlike most remotes that use InfraRed signaling (which requires line of sight), the Univeral Remote MX-650 Omega Remote Control uses radio frequencies to adjust settings of up to 20 components from up to 100 feet away. Each of the 20 components can be programmed with up to 4 pages of LCD screens, plus the 33 hard buttons. The MX-650 allows you to edit the text on each LCD screen exactly as you prefer (up to 26 screens with 10 buttons per screen, for a total of 260 available text buttons and up to 5 characters per button). One Year Parts and Labor Warranty from Universal Remote Requires 4 AAA batteries (not included)
Customer Reviews:
fantastic.......2007-12-12
I have two prontos that I have programmed so i am aware of the fancy tricks the pronto can do but
this remote is so easy to use and set up I use it exclusively now.
The buttons work great, you can do macros, Plus it has lots of buttons
which I prefer over finding a image on a touch screen
Great product!.......2007-12-04
The sole reason I bought this control is because of its price and RF feature. The reason I choose Universal Remote is because of their reputation. All and all, I'm very pleased with this remote and the RF feature.
Pros: RF feature (I using MRF-350 base station) works flawless, IR signal strength is strong and customization is excellent.
Cons: A bit bulky, Battery consumption is slightly high. Programming takes some getting use to, and it could be more aesthetically pleasing.
This is worth every penny and it's beyond what I expected for this price.
Convenience at Your Finger Tips.......2007-12-02
Remote is very convenient and the price of purchase was very good considering that local retailers are asking considerably more. I do recommend a professional installer to program the remote, because it can be complicated and i noticed that the installer needed to go "on-line" to get the codes and programming that was needed. A weakness is that you need to go to "main" function each time you want to control the different components; a bit cumbersome. All in all, a good tool if you have many components in your home entertainment center so you don't have to have multiple remotes laying around.
It's just peaches!.......2007-10-18
This thing was easy to program and has eliminated 5 remotes. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to consolidate all their remotes. I've had two older Universal remote models and a couple other brands and this one is the best yet. The only negative I have is the buttons don't light up in the same way as the older versions which I liked better.
One of the Best Remotes for Home Entertainment Centers.......2007-03-29
I love this remote. I use this one remote to control a Satellite Box, TiVo, Plasma TV, Tuner/Receiver, DVD player and VCR from anywhere in the house. The remote works both via a radio and IR. It was easy to program and it works flawlessly.

Customer Reviews:
Great Phone System.......2007-12-30
I needed something to replace the old V-tech cordless phone system in our home. Since we have Voice Mail provided by the local telephone company, I did not need an answering system. The clarity of the phone is great. I have lots of wireless electronics in my home and have found zero interference. I like that the buttons are lit. I am not a fan of the orange color, but it is something I can live with. The handsets are comfortable and buttons are easy to use. The only thing I would have liked was for the base to have controls on it. I used that a lot when the old phone was not in its cradle and I could not find it in time to answer a call. I have already expanded my system to 4 handsets and can place them anywhere in my home without worrying about where the phone jacks are.
Nice Phone.......2007-12-25
Don't be afraid to buy this phone. Set up was easy.
Different ring tones. All in all this phone works great at my house.
Uniden 2060.......2007-12-15
This phone has extremely clear voice reception. No echo whatsoever. This is the best landline phone I have owned and am amazed at the clarity.
ok phone ify voice quality.......2007-12-09
This phone has a lot of nice features for the price point. A little light in the hand I like a phone with a little weight to it. Incoming voice sounds clear but it gets a lot of echo to it when you speak also I get some vibration in the ear piece. I've been using it only a couple of days but I am going to bring it back because the echo is just so prominent.
Pretty good features, so-so voice quality.......2007-12-01
I bought this particular phone because it was the only one that has all of the features I needed for my home office phone -- voicemail indicator, belt clip, earphone jack, speakerphone -- as well as the usual things like speed dialing and Caller ID. (I was surprised at how few phones come without answering machines now.) This phone was easy to set up and program. The handsets can send copies of speed dial numbers to each other. It's also a nice-looking phone that doesn't take up much space on the desk. The microphone in the handset is not very good. My voice sounds overmodulated to people I'm talking with. I usually use a headset, though, so that's not a huge issue for me. One very strange thing I have discovered is that the Caller ID on this phone does not interface with the programmed numbers, so if someone who's in my list of speed dial numbers calls me, their name is not displayed. I've never had a phone that did not recognize programmed numbers, so I find this very strange. I contacted Uniden about it, and they say this is the normal operation for this phone. This is probably the biggest con from my point of view, because my coworkers are all at another location, and I would like to be able to greet them by name when I answer the phone. It's not enough to make me take back the phone, because this is still the only phone that has all of the other features I want. But I do find it very strange that any phone would not have this feature. I always thought it was standard. Everything else about it appears to work well.

Maptech Terrain Navigator Pro takes Terrain Navigator software to a whole new level with expanded features designed for professionals such as project managers, architects, land-use officials, as well as expert hikers and expedition leaders. Navigator Pro not only offers the full array of features that Terrain Navigator has come to be known for, but it also allows users to download and use high-quality aerial photos, share 3-D fly-around video clip recordings of the terrain, export maps to graphics program, and much, much more.
Just like Maptech's Terrain Navigator, Terrain Navigator Pro includes between 300 and 4000 topographic maps of Colorado. And as with Terrain Navigator, if you are planning a hike, you can plot out all your trips out on your PC, then download your routes and notes onto your Pocket PC device. When you return from your trip, all the notes you've taken, along with the routes of your spontaneous day trips, can be uploaded back into your PC, and voila, you've created a detailed log of your trip directly onto the map. Your maps can be printed on any standard desktop printer with or without the USGS borders and legend, latitude/longtitude grids, UTM grids, or compass alignment guides. And with Pocket Navigator software (sold separately), Terrain Navigator Pro can be integrated with mapping and GPS technology on a Pocket PC.
Terrain Navigator Pro is truly designed for the professional in mind. In addition to several enhancements on the standard Terrain Navigator features, Terrain Navigator Pro offers several advanced features, including:
- Aerial Photos: Access and download 1-meter resolution Digital Orthophoto Quads via the Internet for a full year and use them the same way you use topo maps. The photos can be printed out on any standard desktop printer, and you can add notes, project them in 3-D, and view them alongside your topo maps. Photos are available for most areas of the continental U.S., and once you've downloaded them, they're yours to keep.
- GeoTips and Dynamic Street Addresses: Mouse-over maps or photos to determine addresses, coordinates, elevation, grade, and more. With the software's powerful "auto text" feature, you can instantly annotate a map or photo with that information. You can also search for maps and locations by typing in a street address.
- 3-D Fly-around Video Clip Recordings: Perhaps the coolest new feature of all! Terrain Navigator Pro allows you to display a map or aerial photo in 3-D, then record it as a short video clip. With this feature, you can email the video clip to a client or colleague, or even paste it into a PowerPoint presentation.
- Advanced Graphics and CAD/GIS Features: To assist with your presentations, you can export maps, photos and charts to Photoshop and other graphics programs. You can also use the topo maps and aerial photos on ArcView, ArcGIS, Intergraph, AutoCAD, MapInfo, MicroStation, ERDAS, and other CAD/GIS applications.
