I saved my money up for this Philips mp3 player. When I got it I loved it. I got it in June 2005, it just recently stopped working in January 2007. It only worked for a year and a half. I was very disappointed with this mp3. I will never get this very mp3 again.

This is the second mp3 player that I've had from philips. The first one never worked and this one died after 5 months of use. When you get the "flickering of death" nothing in the manual works. My last philips product EVER!!!!

I got this mp3 player about a year ago and I've been somewhat satisfied with its performance, even though it as a very bad designed interface to load songs to the player, it is incredibly slow (USB 1.1) and I had to reinstall the firmware at least two times becuse of data corruption. I can live with that. The problem came last week when I got a flickering of death. The screen just flickers all the time. The player doesn't respond to any command, it is not recognized by the computer, no way to reinstall firmware... nothing. It just died, and of course is out of warranty. I called Philips support (horrible by the way) and they said that they would repair the player only if it was under warranty. I explained to the guy that it was out of warranty but I was willing to pay for the repair. He said... "no, we only repair electronics that are under warranty. Take the player to an electronic repair shop, they might be able to help". Well, there are no electronic repair shops in this area with the knowledge to repair this thing, so basically I am stuck with a $150 (what I paid originally) paperweight. Thank you Philips!. I won't buy from you again!!.

I don't understand why everyone is complaining this is awesome, I think it sounds very crisp. it has not frozen on me i think that everyone is going to have something bad to say about everything, but i think it is great. I use it to go jogging and it has never skipped. Its just great.

Although this mp3 is o.k, it has several major flaws, such as it's constant freezing and not playing certain tracks.I bought this with my Chrimstmas money i got from relatives ect, but, within the first month, it broke and had to be repaired for 6 months!I no they do this from time to time, but that is just ridiculus!The download software is O.k to put on your computer, but recently when i ahev used to software, it has frozen up and will not put any tracks on for me!Also, it never deletes my music library when i ask it too. It just stays there.Overall, not a very good effort from the people i would of expected to do quite well in this feild.The reason why i have given this a four star beacuase it did eventualy unfreeze, but still a poor effort.

We were worried about sending our son off to college since his regular alarm clock never seemed to wake him. I'm not sure if the tone of the sonic alarm clock would have worked any better but the vibrating feature is working like a charm. In fact, I don't know that he even uses the alarm tone at all. It did what we wanted. I'd recommend it.
Wakes extremely sound sleeper.......2007-07-30
This alarm clock actually woke my very sound sleeping son, even without resorting to using the vibrating portion of the alarm. It has allowed him to gain independance in his life, and ease my fears of sending him off to college on his own. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who is a very deep sleeper.

I do give it 5 stars, and it vibrates me up easily (im a heavy sleeper - a cell phone alarm simply will not do) and it very loud. I have a tendency to NOT wake up to sound, but the vibration certainly works. This alarm is loud, and you can even set it louder. however, i do not use the sound because i don't want to wake my brother up (he shares a room with me). It doesn't. The only problem with this is that i find it missing a piece.. maybe it's just me, but it has a hard time standing up on its own when i put force on it (ie. pressing the snooze button). It falls over. there is a little hole in the back however where I slipped 3 standard paper clips and folded out one limb and put it straight out, to the left and to the right. it works well, so if you dont get the stand, then you can use paper clips. also, the brightness setting is nice. i set the display brightness to low because I cant sleep with lights on. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Probably the best investment I've made in 3 years.

Putting it politely, this thing can wake the dead. The tone and volume are adjustible and set (im)properly can sound roughly like a cross between nails dragging across a blackboard and a cat being fed into a meat grinder. Combine the bed shaker and a volume control that can be turned up to an ungodly level and you're not going to be the most popular person in the dorm...but you'll never miss an 8am class again. Just don't turn it on on weekend mornings.
For normal sleeping people, the volume can be turned down and the bed shaker disconnected.

This tiny cable extension works great especially for condominium buildings where satellite dishes are not allowed to be attached to the structure and no holes can be made on the walls for the cables. It works well even on hurricane proof sliding doors in a high rise in Miami.

I bought this phone for my mother because she was having trouble seeing the caller id and pressing a couple buttons when dialing on regular phones. This one is just what the doctor ordered. The buttons are large and the caller id display is readable to her now. Very good reception and clarity. I would defineately recommend this phone to anyone. I'm thinking I may get one for myself now!

As far as the product goes I have no problem with the phone.
It has worked fine.
My complaint is with amazon and the deceiving ad they have.
The picture of the item shows 2 phone's.
After receiving only one phone i contacted amazon.
There comment was not our problem.
They would not do anything at all to satisfy the customer which was me.
They tried to put the blame on the retailer who I purchased it from.
I tried to explain to them they were the one's who controlled the
pictures they have posted.
They would hear of it still would not take responsibility for their
screw up and they still have not changed the pictures in the ad.

The product was exactly as described, met my needs perfectly, price was reasonable, delivery time was fantastic. I must've shopped at least 8 or 10 stores on foot - nobody had what I needed. I guess nobody else thinks of the elderly trying to use a cordless phone with those teeny-tiny little buttons. The buttons are also light-up, marked very boldly, and they have braille. Also the entire unit is larger than your average cordless unit - very comfortable and secure in an older, arthritic hand. It also vibrates and lights up very nearly like a pinball machine when it rings - all excellent qualities for an older person. Great product!
