Product Description
The very familiar 3-slot style payphone was first introduced in the 1950's and remained virtually unchanged until 1965. This appropriately christened prepay-style pay station will take you back to the days of old fashioned phone booths and 10-cent phone calls. Believe it or not, its predecessor was a post pay-style phone that actually allowed the caller to place their call and then pay once finished. While you don't have to pay for your calls with this Crosley replica, you will enjoy the functional coin slots complete with Crosley jingle as your money is deposited into the coin bank in the base of the unit.

Great phone.......2006-10-06
I have not used this phone as of yet. But I plan to put this in my basement to give it an old look. And this phone is perfect for that. This definately will generate interest among my guests. U get what u see. Amazon price was very competitive among some other sites.
Excellent "old time look".......2005-05-27
I love my red payphone, it has been getting alot of attention from everyone who sees it!
Good conversation piece and great way to save spare change.......2005-03-22
Telephone works well and looks and feels like a real pay phone. It does double as a bank and the family puts extra change in it to save up for DVD rentals and pizza nights. The red phone looks great against the yellow wall in our kitchen. The Amazon price including shipping is still less than anywhere else including Ebay ($68). The only drawbacks are the chrome accents are over plastic and there is a modern ringer on the telephone.

Customer Reviews:
Well, it's really pretty...yep, that's about it........2007-11-05
Bought this phone on semi-impulse; I'd seen it in PB's catalog, and liked it, so when Toys R Us included it as a doorbuster, I picked it up. It's 2 days later, and I'm taking it back to the store. If it wasn't so pretty, it would have gone back the minute I pulled it out of the box; it's basically a big hunk of cheap plastic, and I'm almost afraid I'll break it just dialing numbers. The handset itself seems nice and sturdy; if the rest of the phone felt the same, this would be a definite keeper. But, it doesn't, so back to the store it goes. I would gladly pay double the amount for a product of quality; this phone just is not a good value.
So Cool A Hit with Everyone!.......2007-06-08
Thank you, this phone makes a hit with everyone who enters our scrapbook room. The kids can't believe it really works. It's a great replica and a highlight of the room.
Disappointing sound quality.......2007-04-10
There's a persistent buzz coming from the line that wasn't there with other phones. That makes this phone annoying to use, which is too bad because it's cool looking.
LOVE IT!.......2007-03-29
My husband and I recently got married and purchased a brand new home. I decided to decorate our kitchen in a 1950's bakery theme and I saw this phone and had to have it. I could not be happier. The folks at Crosley do a GREAT job making retro look new again! As a child of the 80's, I am in love with the 50's and I am SO glad Crosley helped me put that special touch into my kitchen!!!!
Too Cool.......2007-01-11
I have an old tin sign that says "Pay Phone--5 Cents". When I saw this phone, I had to get it. Love the pink. Very long cord, which is nice. My grandkids love to put coins in and actually hear the drop into the ching-ching, before making a call.

Plastic junk for a big price tag.......2007-07-22
This item arrived at my house yesterday and I was so excited to pull it out of the box, and then my mood changed drastically. I was very disappointed by the plastic everywhere. The hand held ear piece was the sturdiest portion of the phone. The cradle the handpiece rests on was plastic with a crome colored paint coating. I've seen McDonalds Happy Meal toys that were better put together than this thing. The phone has lots of eye appeal but it won't last in any sort of daily use. I hung the phone on the wall without any difficulty and my daughter and I placed 13 coins in the top of the phone. The wonderful sound effect that happened with the drop of each coin ended after the 13th coin. I really expect something that I pay over $70 for to last for more than 5 minutes, call me crazy!!!! Sound quality of the one and only phone call we made was good but I'm sure that soon the cradle would be snapped off in the floor if anyone didn't use extreme care when hanging up the phone. Needless to say the phone is going back!
Great New/Old Phone.......2007-03-31
Crosley CR56 1950's Pay Phone - Brushed Chrome
Looks great hanging on the wall. It also works well. Earpiece is clear. No feedback from mouthpiece to earpiece (I've had that happen with some phones before). It's fairly lightweight. I wasn't expecting that. It looked heavier online. The body of the phone is plastic, but seems to be of good quality. I recommend this one.
Not sure of operation, but was made of cheap plastic.......2004-11-09
From the look of this phone, I was hoping that the phone would be more of a metalic quality. While some parts of the phone are metal, there is actually a lot of plastic. I took it out of the box and it just had that cheap feeling to it. I do not really return things often, but this went back right away. Nothing against the seller -- I received prompt delivery and processing of my return -- this is just not a high quality product. I must admit that I did not even plug it in, so I can not vouch for call clarity, etc. Overall, I was very disappointed in the quality of this product and would not recommend it if you are looking for something of substance.
