Dynatron Miracle Remote is Just That - Miracle.......2006-03-10
Wow, what a great replacement for the original JVC remote. My set is almost 16 years old and my dog decided to pull off all the buttons (over time) on the remote! After searching the JVC site and not seeing anything available due to the age of the set (which works great), I checked on the Amazon site and found exactly what I needed.
Very easy to use with all the same functions. Mistake proof!

Phone works great - but headset cord frays within 4 months.......2007-01-04
I have purchased 2 of these phones and sent BOTH of them into GN Netcom for replacement within the first 4-6 months. GN Netcom does support their warranty. So I received the 2 GN 7170 phones back within about 2 weeks - they were both returned brand new. And - the exact same problem happened with the 2 new phones, exactly as happened with the first 2 I purchased - the mic & earpiece wires are so small and fragile that they break both inside the rubber insulation and they break through the rubber insulation and shortly thereafter you will loose sound or the microphone or both. It always happened, one within 2 weeks, and one within 1 day. BUT there is a solution: Since the phone has a universal plug for the external headset, you can go buy a heavy-duty headset for around $20 and then the cord/headset/phone combo is quite rugged. In fact, I drop mine all the time, or the cord gets caught on my chair, or the headset gets ripped off my head when I go to shake someone's hand. But with the heavy-duty headset attached, the phone works great - takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. Other than the wimpy mic/earphone cord, the GN 7170 is actually a great product and there are few other phones that can compete with it out there within its price range. I've had one for a couple of years, and one 'back-up' ready in case I ever wear the first one out. And I especially like the easily replaceable battery - it is a standard phone battery that is carried by any hardware store for $3.99. As opposed to having to special order a $60 Lithium Ion battery pack from GN Netcom, like on some of their other cordless phones. Good features, hardy phone, hard to beat price, good warranty, bad headset, but can be replaced with another one fairly easily (test the sound output first on the new headset before buying, since quality, volume & optimal operating voltage vary greatly between headset manufacturers).
Problematic.......2006-01-03
Because of arm neck weakness, I have to use a head phone. Although this one is lighter to put in yr pocket than regular cordless phones, its got its own set of problems. Volume adjustment is insufficient; often wish for louder incoming sound. Outgoing sound has feedback and sounds too loud; am getting used to it. the phone is too fat to fit well in hand and easily dropped. Reception on other end is underwater or muffled. Wonder if a boom mike that goes directly in front of the mouth would help;the one that comes with it reaches to the cheek only. Numbers are small and the letters beneath the button are even smaller and more difficult to read. Have had it only 2 weeks; maybe will adjust but am looking for a better alternative. Maybe Plantronics, but it seems to have similair problems though the phone itself is smaller and lighter and fits in hand better. Remember the good old days when you get a phone from the phone company you had no choice but it was perfect and sturdy and lasts for the rest of your life?

I will always hold Motorola suspect after owning this product - the Motorola Brand is toast as far as Im concerned .. OK - so whats not to like - look at the swoopy body - 1/2 the time the phone doesnt hang up because you are never sure the phone is square on the reciever. The over priced wireless phone batteries loose their reserve power in the first 6 months - IE wireless has poor battery life - the wireless phone ringer died & I had to rely on the base station for a ringer - then finally hooray ! the base station died - no dial tone \ - now I have to go buy another - but it will not be a motorola. The range of the phone isnt that great and the wireless call quality stunk .. This two line phone was expensive as well almost twice as much as the competition ..

GE Edge Cordless.......2007-09-15
We've used VTech, Uniden, and AT&T cordless phones in the past and have been satisfied. The GE Edge is truly awful. The two cordless phones had extremely poor reception... we could barely hear calling in and out. The phone attached to the answering machine was the only good one but who wants to be tethered to the base?
Terrible product. We replaced it with a Uniden set.
Static!!.......2007-09-10
I bought this phone just last week and I have to say I am very disappointed. I have had cordless phones for a while now and this is the first one that I have had that is getting so much static, even though the base is less that 50 feet away from the handsets. I have the base in my bedroom and when I use the handset in my dining room, there is so much static that I can't hear the person on the line. Also one of the handsets did not ring until I switched cradles. Then I have been seeing strange messages on the handsets like "line in use" even though the other phones are seated in their cradles and off. Also the ring on the handsets is very low and I couldn't find any way (I read the manual) to raise the volume. Needless to say I am going to buy a different brand.
GE Brings BAD Things to Life.......2007-08-12
This phone was a bad choice. We've only had it a few months, and we're already having problems with it. The handsets don't transfer, so if you get a low battery beep in the middle of an important call, you're going to have to hang up and call back with the other handset. Then the answering system started hiding messages! Someone would leave a message, but it wouldn't show on the unit, and it wouldn't play until the next message came in. If it's several days later, you may have missed an important message. Then, even though you know it must be there, you have no way to access the new message until a new message comes in. Who knows what will go wrong next?! We can't take it back to the store, but we're going to replace it anyway -- this phone is just too unreliable!
Poor quality, bad service.......2007-08-06
This unit arrived with a bad battery that would not charge. When I contacted GE, I was told the the battery is not included on the warranty and I would have to purchase one on my own. I emphasized that this was an item purchased two days before my call, to no avail. GE told me I could return the item to Amazon.
Also, during the call the customer service person told me we had a bad connection. I told her I was using the second handset of the system I was calling about. All she said was "Oh". The phone's voice quality is poor, static is high, and the speaker phone worse than than any cell phone I have used. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I have only had the telephone for 1 yr and it's no longer usable voice quality was always poor ans machine not loud enough to hear unless you are standing right next to it
