Nextar 570 MP3 Player.......2007-12-14

This is an amazing little player. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is the small amount of time it took me to copy my songs from my cds to windows media player, then drag them to a list, and presto one click and they loaded onto this player. (But the instructions could be alittle clearer.) But once you play with it, it is worth figuring it out ! GREAT sound!! I sugest a set of regular ear phones rather than the ear bud type that come with this. You do Not need the little cd that comes with this at all...at least not if you have windows media player on your computer.Windows XP has it, I think all the new windows versions has the media player that you can use to up load your favorite songs to this player.It holds about 250 songs. After I put my favorites on this player, windows allowed me to back up the ones I put on it to a cd,...So my favorites are backed up on cd's if I ever want to reinstall them witout resorting all my favorites from all the albums of cds.!! Great little Player, cheap price...I am 58 and if I can figure it out I'm sure you can too !!

Better Understanding Of Instructions.......2007-11-21

I just love the big keypad and the size of the remote itself however, I've been struggling with getting it in sync with my TV and DVD player. I would get more of this type of remote control but I'm working on getting an enlarged version of it but it won't be finished until after Thanksgiving. Everyone should be able to read and understand what to do to program their remote and that's what I'm trying to do.

Great for the money!.......2006-05-28

This is a nice phone with some good options for the money. Things I like:

- Works on a frequency which doesn't interfere with my wireless network.

- Speaker-phone mode! Very nice. I am on phone conferences frequently, and it's nice to be able to switch to speaker phone and set the handset down.

- Mute mode. Like above, handy for times when I want to listen while doing things and not be heard.

- Keypad and display backlight. Not new, but nice

- Antenna lights up for VM notification and caller-id recognition (3 different colors). That's pretty cool.

- Other things: weather-proof, NMHi battery, 'soft' buttons similar to those on cellphones, and did I mention the relatively cheap price?

Things that I don't like:

- Keys and display have backlight, but important keys are dark! I took a walk in the dark to test the range and found that I didn't know how to hang up because everything else EXCEPT the critical keys were lit.

- Cumbersome to configure. Interface is good for a cordless-phone, but I'm spoiled with my VoIP phones (I have 3) which offer web interfaces.

Nice phone.......2005-11-12

I recently purchased this phone to avoid interference with high voltage lines in my backyard. Works like a charm without any noice or interruption. Highly recommend this product for home use near power lines, microwave and wireless internet.

I love this phone so much. I can walk away from my house and go to the opposite side of street and still can talk without any noisy signal. It also has 3-Color Light-up indicator with 4 ringers options....So, it can be your decorative items in your house or bed room. My recommendation is "MUST BUY".

Walk Away.......2007-06-26

I was hoping this phone would be better than my 2.4GHZ Uniden.
The 2.4 has a range of about 125ft. I can keep the non-base headset in the shop at 100 ft and it works fine.
The 5588 starts hissing and popping at the back door -- one floor under the headset. I can't make it 1/3 the distance of the older model. BY the time I get to the shop the phone quits.
So instead of ditching my old 2.4, I've maxed out the recharge ability of both 2.4s. This is really irritating since the 2.4 kills my Wi-Fi connection and the 5.8 does not.
Time to buy another phone set and since I can't count on Uniden, it will be a Panasonic. Both Unidens go into the garabge (after recycling the batteries).

Does the job & inexpensive.......2007-03-28

We have these land lines in several rooms and they have worked just fine over the last three or four years. I like the fact that you can add phones to the system. We had some other larger Uniden phones that work as the "main" phones and the compatibility is perfect. They even work pretty good away from the base set when you are outside in the backyard. The features like caller ID etc. is a bonus. I must admit the phone book feature has never been used but we could if needed. If I had one complaint it might be the size is too small. I think they wanted to have the cell phone size but it is not the same. For man size hands the keypad is a little small but you get used to it by using corners of your thumb. Otherwise everything works fine for these extra phones to have in other rooms. I'm not sure why one of the reviewers had so much static but there is no problem whatsoever here. The only time we have had static was in a bad storm but I believe that is normal. We bought them for the inexpensive price to have as extra phones and they do the job. If you want some supplemental phones these will do the job.
