The handset also supports a call waiting/caller ID combo (subscription required). Caller ID lets you see who's calling before you answer the phone, while call waiting lets you know when another call is coming in. By combining the two, however, users will learn who's calling even when they're currently in the middle of a conversation with someone else. When you hear the beep, simply look at the handset's four-line LCD display to identify the name and number. It's especially convenient when you're waiting for an important call but still have other calls to make. Plus, the handset supports Talking Caller ID--which audibly announces the caller's name and number--providing the base system is also compatible.
Additional features include a 50-station phone directory (sharable with other system handsets); adjustable volume controls; a lighted keypad for dialing in poor lighting conditions; two-way intercom support; three selectable ring tones and four ringer melodies; and a belt clip and headset jack (headset sold separately) for hands-free communication. The handset and cradle measure 3.1 by 8.9 by 6.5 inches (W x H x D) and are backed by a 90-day warranty.

frustrating phones.......2007-10-22
I would not recommend these phones. They beep and turn off constantly. I can only guess it is because I have wireless internet in my house. The wireless internet is not connected to the same phone line that these phones are connected to so that should not be why. The only reason I have not returned the phones is because my children threw away the box.
