If you are looking for a cheap replacement for your lost or broken remote control, the Sony RM-V202 is a good choice. Simple in design, it sports an ergonomic design with large, easy-to-see buttons. The RM-V202 will control four audio/video components, reducing your remote needs from four to one. The RM-V202 will control TV, DVD, VCR and SAT/cable. It is compatible with most major brands and is simple to use. There is both a TV and DVD menu function, making the manipulation of these components particularly easy. Additionally, there is a picture-in-picture function which will allow you to keep tabs on two channels at the same time. The seven meter (twenty-three feet) range should be appropriate for changing the channel or adjusting the volume from across the living room. With a three-minute memory back-up, there is plenty of time to replace dead batteries with new batteries. The remote uses two, AA batteries; these batteries will last approximately six months.

Good Solid UVR.......2007-10-31

Not the easiest thing to configure, but works pretty decently, and is pretty much the only UVR in its price range. Given the price, I'd say this is an excellent product, despite the difficulty setting it.

I was glad to find a remote for my VCR that was manufactured by the same company. I did not have to enter a product code, I just put in the batteries, and started using it.

Doesn't Work with Dish Network 301 Receiver.......2007-10-22

Dish Network uses a proprietary receiver and this remote has no code for that unit. The remote's 'code search' capability cannot find a code for it. Calls to Sony support were worthless; hard to believe Sony isn't familiar with Dish Network, one of the major satelite TV providers.

Connects well to the TV, VCR and DVD player, but that does little good when it won't control the reception and channels.

Be nice if they'd tell you it doesn't work with Dish Network BEFORE you order it.

Poorly designed.......2007-10-09

Not only can I not get this to work with my TV (I bought it because my old TV remote finally died), I can't even tell if anything's happening when I try to program it because of a lack of activity lights/indicators. As a rule, I like Sony products, but this one really stinks.

It works with the Sony TV but ..........2007-06-12

It won't work with any device with a code higher than 099, so it won't accept the DVD player or the satellite dish receiver. If I had known this, I would not have bought it. This was one of those gotchas; the postage to return it is more than it is worth.

It might have been state of the art 10 years ago, but it is useless now.
