We haven't used them that much so far but I know they will come in handy when we do need them. My husband works outside a lot and this way I can keep a close check on him when he is out side and I am in the house, and to let him know when he has a phone call, or when he needs something. It has been to hot for him to be outside the last couple weeks and we haven't really put them to the total test. Midland it one of the best so I am looking foward to using them.

These walkie-talkies have excellent range and very clear transmission/reception. They are used on moderately hilly terrain over 20 acres and we've had no problems at all. We also occasionally use them between vehicles on road trips.

This phone sucks.......2007-06-18
From day one the max volume on the handset was too low on a lot of calls, and I don't have a hearing problem. Had it for less than a year and it started making a lot of weird noises when I was on calls. Granted, the handset had been dropped a few times, but still it should have lasted longer than it did. Phone book is terrible (only allows for 10 presets). Base unit is ugly. Ugh. Don't waste your money on this thing.

If you are looking for a phone that lets you browse the web,play cool games,listen to music or watch videos on it you should stay far away from this bad boy,but if you looking for something to use in an emergency situation then this might be the phone for you.This phone has a very old school wap 1.0 web browser that will not let you view most content on the web,it has a very tiny and low resolution screen that makes playing the downloadable games a pain to play and worst of all this thing has very little internal memory(and no expandable mem card slot).On the plus side it has the two way walkie talkie that boost is known for(only $1.00 a day to use),it is very thick which gives it a solid feel and for the most part you will get a fairly strong signal when making a call.This phone is all about basics which it does well so if you dont care about mobile entertainment and are simply looking for a communication device then this is the cell phone for you.
