By itself, the JVC UX-EP25 appears as a compact, micro-size stereo system with a central unit and 2 separate speakers but there's more. It has a front input for adding a special dock (included) that lets you play your iPod through the sound system. It also has all those things you expect from a stereo system including a CD player and an AM/FM radio. The CD player plays all commercial CDs plus it can play CDR and CDRW with prerecorded MP3 and WMA files. It also has a timer for lulling you to sleep or bringing you awake. Sound performance is enhanced with JVC's Active HyperBass Pro. It delivers those rich, low frequencies you wouldn't expect to hear from such small-size speakers.

I use it in the bedrrom and the remote is useful at bedtime. Everything has been to my satisfaction except the I Pod connectionn which is a bit to clumsy and dsitracts from an overall mgood design.
