Very Solid Case.......2007-12-24
My first Contour Showcase. Most people I know with this case for previous iPod generations swear by the Showcase, so I purchased this one. I knew I didn't want a bulky, neoprene, leather, or silicon (aka "lint magnet") cases.
PROS:
- slim, minimal bulk added to iPod
- covers majority of the iPod surface
- dual locks to keep case closed
- actually designed only for the iPod Classic 80GB
- belt clip slips on easily and solid construction
CONS:
- the edges of the case do not completely come together when the case is closed to form a solid seal. Very tiny gap between the black-colored rubber edges. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars.

I bought this unit to serve as a client to my existing wireless network, which is based on the excellent TrendNet TEW-630BRP. Through 3 days of trial and 50+ attempts in different settings, I succeeded in getting the two Ethernets bridged properly just twice. In both of these cases, the connections were lost within minutes. It then dawned on me that either the hardware or the software has to be defective. So, the unit was returned and I began to shop for a different model.
The unit I had was Version A2.2. This might have been too new to have a stable firmware.

I have been using the TEW-450APB access point with Trendnet's TEW-452BRP using the SuperG or 108 Mbps data rate. This is at or near wire speeds. It has a very easy to use Web page interface. I used it instead of adding PCI wireless card to my remote desktop. It freed up a PCI slot and directly connected to the built in Ethernet port. The security features were easy to set up. I did have a question when first setting up the router to contact Trendnet customer support and was very pleased with their help.
