Don't let this happen to you!!!! Do not buy one of these!!!!!.......2007-08-13
...No fooling, we have one of these and it works most of the time...it went down for a while, the help line told us how to clean the contacts (of new equipment?), oh, and we bought one of those extra units for an extension. Since we bought it, it has rarely worked or worked right in 3 or 4 years. It has been unplugged for years - I wasted a lot of money on that piece of junk. We got counseled on how to fix that one, too, and it failed.
...A T & T, in my mind, used to be a respectable name for a company that did telephone service and sold good merchandise. I will not buy any more equipment from them ever - their equipment is sub-standard and stinks. And if A T & T ever cares to call me and make it right, call 703-303-2209 - I won't hold my breath, though.
...THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS: DO NOT BUY THIS FROM A T & T OR ANYONE ELSE. COMPARISON SHOP AND BUY ONE OF MANY COMPETITORS' DEALS - YOU CAN FIND A BETTER PRODUCT THAT A T & T'S, FOR LESS MONEY.

I've owned many different brands. This one has an awesome set of features and offers terrific quality. It's very easy to use and the clarity is excellent. I bought it on Amazon for a song! Some very minor minuses, most of which would seem to be easy to fix: There's no clock that always appears. It only appears next to an incoming call # recorded on the Caller ID. The call log could be easier to access -- like on my Motorola MD491. Speaker is terrific. The phone stands up and you can set it on the counter/desk to converse while typing away or changing a diaper. I do find the call log confusing, but I might fix that by reading the manual! I've owned Panasonic (great features that last less than a year on each of 3 phones I've owned - then they go kaput); Northwestern (yuck), Motorola (great corded phone, but the companion cordless keypad went bellyup in a year and the battery life on the NiCD was awful). Overall, this is the best phone I've ever owned. I don't use the answering machine as I use Verizon AnswerCall. The price was cheap (under $30), so I grabbed it.
