The MX-42X3 monitor does not have an NTSC broadcast tuner. The product will not accept a connection directly from a coax connector. A connection directly from an antenna or from a cable provider contains information that the monitor will not understand. You will need to "translate" this information by suing an external device. Most VCRs have this ability.

This HD TV can't be beat.......2007-07-28

Well, 42 inch plasma tvs of brand names (sony, panasonic etc) sell for about twice the amount this Maxent model sells for, and it is the same exact thing! I bought mine new at best buy for 1,080. That included a four year in home warranty. Pretty good price for a great widescreen TV. What I noticed instantly about this TV is that it makes the pictures of movies seem so much bigger than a regular TV. I do not have an HD DVD player, so I can't comment on how those types of discs look on this TV, but it can't be any better or worse than a similar product made by a competitor. Being a film freak, it is really nice to watch movies on this thing. If your going to buy a plasma tv, don't give some big coporation an extra 600 bucks just because of their name! Buy a Maxent

These are genuine taiyo yuden discs, i have a Plextor PX-716A and it's able to burn them at 16X (They are rated as 8x)
