This is one of a few alarm clocks that combines an LED display with an atomic clock. I like an atomic clock as it is always accurate and resets itself when switching between daylight savings time. The display is large and easy to read and, for me, not too bright. The shutoff for the alarm is on the top of the unit and is easy to reach. I liked this clock so much that I bought one for my father.
Outperforms Sony.......2007-07-25
We had a Sony Dream Machine with the atomic clock function. It had no battery backup and occasionally somehow "lost" the signal for the clock and ended up with the incorrect time.
This atomic clock radio does catch the signal and does have the battery backup function.
It is not a $50 or $100 radio, but does the job well. The only drawback has been the small switch which turns the alarm on and off. For the price, I would buy it again.

Pluses:
1. This is a true atomic clock, none of the factory set wannabe's. So it sets itself from the Federal clock in Colorado. For example if congress scraps the DST in 3 years from now, the clock will correct itself after the rule is passed.
2. Nice LED display easy to read in low/high lights. I have another atomic clock in LCD, the LCD clocks emit too much light. The current clock is perfect to view.
3. Clear buttons for alarms & time zones (CST, EST...) buttons are minimal, useful and functional.
4. Lighweight, and uses a battery for power outage
5. Alarm volume is fine. I am normal sleeper and had no issues hearing it.
6. For a price (including shipping = $27). Well worth the money. The other options are from brookstone etc and way too expensive.
Negative:
So-so looks. Will not stand out as a cool clock.

Nice Accurate Clock.......2007-05-14
I purchased this clock not for the alarm but for a clock I keep above the TV set. Since it is a radio controlled clock it is very accurate. The only complaint I have is that the LED display is very bright even on the low setting. I had no trouble getting the signal from Fort Collins even though I live in North West Oregon.

I had purchased other DVD-R printable surface disc (TDK), and my computer (G-5, iMac) would reject the disc. I bought the Fujifilm product and the disc worked beautifully. Also, the print surface takes a great image.
