Good case, decent price........2007-12-24
I wanted this case for its reflective look, and so far, it's delivered quite well. Unfortunately, it's been scratched a few times, but that's because it's been put into a bag with my keys and cell phone. I don't like however, how the bottom is left completely uncovered, but it makes sense that Griffin designed it to be used with the iPod Dock, so it can't have anything there.
When you install it, be careful not to nick the "cbromed" surface, or get anything inside, or else you'll end up with an imperfect finish. With a black iPod, this case will look amazing, and with a silver iPod, it still looks decent.

I don't know why Amazon can't deliver for 4-6 weeks. I bought one at Best Buy last week for the same price. I love this case. It fits my 160 GB Classic perfectly. The halves stick together well, yet are easy to pry apart. It looks cool. The reflecting coating is on the inside of the front half and does diminish the screen brightness a bit, but it still is easy to see in most rooms at full brightness. The best thing is that the bottom is flush with the bottom of the iPod while still holding it firmly. This means that it will fit in most cradles without needing to remove the case. Most important for me is that it fits in my iHome IH8 clock radio.

Yamahas Natural Sound.......2007-03-12
Wow,
My home theater sound system was a long project. I didn't like most of the speakers for sale except the really pricey ones. (On a budget) So being a so so wood worker, and good in electronics designs I built my own. They turned out to be a little larger then normal home theater sat speakers, and a lot heaver.
My spousal approval was low from the start. Remember people keep spousal approval #1 on any home theater project. Anyway being that the speakers I built were heavy I was going to hang them from that small deco chain. Wrong... wife says no retro here. In the mean time My Yamaha Receiver show up. So I order some rather expensive wall mounts. The wait was painful.
Ok, I hooked up my receiver. Borrowed a configuration DVD from a co-worker and Bam just about had a heart attack really.. The picture came on and no sound. Then it all came to life in the blink of an eye and ear drum pop.
After some fumbling around with the setup, takes some figuring out and the manual. I got the natural sound that Yamaha is famous for. Yamaha really worked on this unit. It almost has to many features. A lot of functions to work through to get the system balanced.
Watch out for the speaker size part of the setup. My speakers all 6 are full range, well almost 67-20khz. so I have mine set to large rather than small but I can see a small sat speaker jumping off the wall trying to pump the lows into them.
The system is outstanding... Runs warm, but has delivered the sound I have come to expect from Yamaha pro and commercial products. You won't be sorry.
Out performed my neighbors Dennon system. That is his statement!

Yamaha, like Sony, is going cheap. Still good, but I would take Onkyo who is stil making a full name before they compromise for the money.

This receiver is an engineering marvel without the marketing polish. I researched the specification befor buying. Yamaha audio features "natural sound" in contrast to many competitors who boost base and treble artifically to fit the taste of younger consumers. I bought this receiver and matched it with Yamaha NS-555 speaker ($300 a pair). This is part of the entertainment system including a SONY 46 inch LCD HDTV(kdl46xbr2) and a DVD player. The receive has no problem integrating everything together.
The receiver has the features to drive my two-front-speaker-only configuration, given many possible music sources (audio CD, 5.1/6.1 surrent). CD music is very clear and natural. Its sound field program produces very good effects despite the lack of surrend speakers. The receiver has many adjustments to accomodate the characteristic of the room. But user has to master a lot of terminologies to fine tune the sound. For the most part, only the most devoted user can understand the process. Luckily, without adjustment, the sound appears to be just fine. Model HTR-5960 has the tuning process automated (YPAO). It is worth considering if you are a perfectionist.
Overall, the receiver worked perfectly for me. I spent a lot of time reading owner's manual to connect all the components together. For average user, one can feel relaxed that the features are all there to make the system work. All you need is your time to explore it.

Some problems with it........2007-02-03
I think it is perfect for extending the short cords of my headphones. The weight of this device is hardly noticeable. If they decrease the weight anymore it might be less durable.
On the other hand, it does have some problems. First, it does get tangled up easily, which can annoying sometimes. Second, one side of my headphone stopped working after a month of use. Mind you, my headphones work fine without this extension, it only fails when I plug this thing into it.

My headphone cord always got tangled, but this winds out to however long you need it to be and the spring allows it to wind back up when you are finished using it.
It's a great idea for a product and I enjoy using it.

It seemed every family had one of these at Sea World .......2005-06-11
I picked this set up to use when I took my two kids to Sea World in San Diego over spring break. It takes some practice for a 10-year old to work the unit. You do need batteries in each radio. The belt clip is flimsy with the voices hard to distinguish and decipher. The key is to press the button and hear the beep and then talk. You do need to depress the button in order to hear the person replying.
It is not very loud, you have to speak clearly and not too close to the unit. Thankfully there is an off button.

I bought a pair of these radios six months ago and I had trouble with them right away. The "on" button on one of the units only worked some of the time. Then last week both units stopped working. I replaced the batteries with new ones and they still don't work. I bought these because I thought they were a good deal but I guess it's true that you get what you pay for.
