I like this reciever, only thing is I wasen't as impressed as I thought I'd be with the HDMI sound quality threw the reciever. Not sony's fault, just my opinion of the sound.....

I bought this primarily because I wanted all my sources to be output on one HDMI to the TV so I do not have to switch it. This reciever does and doea a good job. I am very happy with the sound and the product it great.

I have owned this now for around 6 months. I have two minor issues:
1) If you send a HD DVI signal from a PC through the box it is very picky on exactly which resolution and refresh will work.
2) The audio converter has mis-identified the pcm stream from my dvd player twice. A power cycle on the receiver and the audio is back up.

It's a really sweet receiver with lots of versatility. I was a little bummed w/the 1 hdmi out. i have it hooked up to a ps3 and a sony lcd projector. i have to manually switch out the hdmi from the receiver to the ps3 from the back of the projector. I wasn't really thrilled with my speaker selection, but that's another review. Another hdmi out would be awesome.

Excellent AV Receiver for your HOME.......2007-11-23

I searched far & wide for a 3 HDMI output receiver for my home theater. This is by far the best receiver for the price. The other lesser Sony models only have 2 HDMI outputs and the higher models have gimmicks (Faroudja sound, etc.) that don't really make a difference in a HOME theater. If you're looking for professional grade at high volumes, consider the ES series. Onkyo and other companies have some similar models, but they're more expensive.

Overall, this is an excellent AV receiver. I have it hooked up to 3 HDMI sources - HD-DVR, HD-DVD player, and PS3 (has a Blu-Ray player). The sound is awesome, even at low volumes. Even connecting an additional HD video camera via component cables looks impeccable (indistinguishable from an HDMI connection). With a Polaroid 1080i LCD monitor (inexpensive but gives a very crisp picture when calibrated properly) and a Harmony 890 remote, this is a great system. You can rename Video 3, etc. to PS3, for example. There's some flexibility with mixing and matching component inputs with optical or analog audio, if necessary. Upconversion to 1080p is a nice feature, but I can't say I've really appreciated it.

The only negative: Pesky menu structure. It's not on-screen and the front display isn't very elegant. Once you're used to it, though, it's fine. Remember - you only have to set it up once, unless you change the arrangement of your components. Then forget about it and enjoy the great picture and sound. I've heard some complaints about Sony's service, but when I asked nicely for a calibration mic that I lost, they promptly sent me one free of charge.

Amazon's price is right, especially with free shipping!

File corruption after half a year, now I'm looking for a new usb drive.......2006-08-19

Well, it worked fine till today. I guess I've had it for about 6 months. Suddenly I have corrupted files that I can't open or copy over to another drive. I did a google search on "Lexar Jump Drive Corrupt" and found a lot of posts about this problem, so it's not just me. Research yourself if you must. From what I've read, sounds like Transcend Flash 2A might be my next usb drive.

Can't handle normal use - for three months.......2006-03-17

Despite the earlier review that states a Jump Drive survived a trip to the washing machine, apparently normal everyday use is too much for it to handle. I purchased this product in December and it has failed already. While I understand that drives sometimes fail, one would expect a product to last more than a few months. To me this speaks to a distinct lack of quality. Coupled with the fact that admin rights are required to use the secure section of the drive partition (potentially limiting use), this product has done nothing to warrant my repeat business. I will be searching for a new USB drive. One more note - the larger (read: awkward) size of this thing also makes it nearly impossible to use it near any other occupied USB port). I have a Kingston drive and (with crossed fingers) I hope that it lasts longer than 90 days.

Amazing Durability.......2005-05-21

I would definitely reccommend this jump drive. It's very easy to use and it is very durable.

I was given one of these as a gift not too long ago. I began to use it immediately. One day, however, I had placed it in my pants pocket and forgot to remove it. It ended up getting washed (in hot water) with my pants in my washer and then dried on high heat for more than an hour in my dryer. I thought for sure I had ruined it and lost all the files I had already stored on it.

To my amazement, when I tested it on the computer, it was like nothing had happened at all. Not one file was lost. To this day it is still working perfectly.

I plan to buy the 1GB jump drive from Lexar very soon to have as well.

I have owned one of these for several months now and I use it almost daily. I have not had one issue with it. The ability to secure files on this drive is awesome!! I use this drive with Win2000 and XPpro and have full functionality. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking for a pen-type drive. I am currenlty looking to upgrade to a larger drive (1 Gb) and will not be looking for anything but a Lexar Secure JumpDrive.

Does what it's supposed to........2004-11-03

I have had my Secure Drive for over a year now and am very satisfied.

My only three complaints are relatively minor:
1) Although it is small and light enough that I have it on my keychain with no problems carrying in my pocket, it is a tad too thick for computers with USB ports stacked one over another (like on my laptop). I can squeeze in another USB cord when my drive is attached, but it's probably not the best thing to do to my ports.
2) The secure feature only works when the Secure software is installed on the computer you're using. So, for example, if I wanted to access my secure data on a computer at a friend's house, I'd have to first install the Secure software on my friend's computer (the software is on the drive). I wouldn't want to be loading software on other people's computer's, so I wish this feature could have been done directly off of the drive.
3) The keychain ring is on the drive itself, so to plug in the drive, I have to have my keys dangling from the computer. I've twice left the office forgetting my keys on the computer there. I wish the keyring were on the cap instead of the drive.

On the positive side, I use the drive almost daily on 2 or 3 computers and have had absolutely no problems with load times, or saving items. Despite it's light plastic feel, it seems quite sturdy and has survived multiple drops to pavement with no damage or function problems.

I would highly recommend this drive for someone looking for a sturdy, reliable flash drive.
