Designed specifically to power the ButtKicker LFE and Concert--the "silent subwoofers" that simulate the feeling of heavy bass through your furniture without the excessive volume--the BKA1000-4 amplifier offers an easy and affordable way to install the shakers. Simply connect one end of an RCA cable to your processor's subwoofer out and the other into the amp, and then run 12-gauge speaker wire from the amp to the ButtKicker. That's all there is to it, with no preamp required. The amp is powerful enough at 2,100 watts into 2 ohms to run as many as four ButtKicker LFEs used in individual home theater seats, or two units wired in parallel (1,050 watts x 2). The ButtKicker LFE lets users experience realistic special effects and concert-quality music without waking the kids or disturbing the neighbors. Rather than emitting loud rumbling sounds during each explosion or heavy bass passage, the ButtKicker simulates the "feeling" of the effect through your couch, chairs, and other furnishings, letting you sense the low without the excessive volume. The ButtKicker Concert, meanwhile, is specifically designed for musician monitoring, stage, and audio use. The latter has more power in the 40 to 80 Hz range than the LFE, and is ideal for bass players, drummers, keyboard players, DJs, and other artists.
The ButtKicker BKA1000-4 amp also includes low cutoff and variable high cutoff filters. When the low cutoff filter is in the "on" position, the amp filters frequencies of less than 25 Hz, ensuring that the ButtKicker shaker won't rumble during the deepest tones. The variable high cutoff filter, meanwhile, filters frequencies within a range of 40 to 160 Hz, depending on the listener's preferences. In other words, the amp will pass only the deepest frequencies to the ButtKicker while ignoring the others. The high cutoff filter is great for home theater users who want their furniture to shake only during the biggest explosions.

I read some of the reviews regarding these 8x speed TDK discs, and at times I wondered if I should still be hunting for the 4x speed discs, as it sounded as though these discs were far more likely to fail than TDK's discs that burned at slower speeds.
But my fears were unfounded.
Sure, occassionally you will end up with a coaster - that's always a possibility. About the only time I can see that you'll even potentially create coasters if perhaps if you're allowing your burning software to attempt a burn at a speed faster than your DVD-burner is supposed to go. Or it could be that your software is not very good, or you just plain need a new DVD burner.
Outside of that, these 8x speed discs have performed as flawlessly as the 4x discs before them.
The best recordable DVDs --- NOT!.......2006-04-29
I've recorded over 400 movies in the past year, mostly on these TDK disks, mostly with a Panasonic DVD recorder. I've tried other brands, Verbatim, Memorex, HP, and others, and with those 1 out of 10 or 20 fail. Not these - only about one failure per 100.
REVISION: Since writing this review, I've had a package of these from which more than half were defective. TDK honored their warranty and sent me replacements; but so far, the first 3 replacement discs failed, the 4th worked. I'm sure it's not a problem with the DVD recorder because it works with DVD+R discs of the same speed rating from other packages, as mentioned above with occasional failures. Suddenly the TDK DVD+Rs are failing more than 50% so I guess they must have manufactured a bad batch that got by their quality control. I can't seem to change my rating here, but I would only give them 2 stars now.

I should have checked the Amazon reviews before buying this junk. The worst media I ever had. Burned 5 coasters in a row. The media is actually made by CMC Magnetics, TDK just puts their name on it. CMC is notorious for making junk media. Can't believe TDK would put their name on a terrible product. I took this junk back for a refund and got Fuji. You have to watch out for the CMC Magnetics junk, a lot of comapnies are using them like Memorex and Philips

UNfortunatly, sometimes we end up chosing pruducts based on brand names. This is waht happened to me. I saw this on sale... and bought 1 spindle. got another one at the marktplace, and since this pice of trash got on sale on best buy for 19 00 I ended up buying 1 pack over there also. My first spindle arrived at my house and for my surprise, For the first time I had a lost media on MY DELL DVD burner.... tried to burn 6 diferents stuff... and always got errror messegae on the midle. USed the cheap media TEON to burn same stuff, with no problem at all... I am returnig all 3 spindle back, and this is the last tima I will use TDK media. No wonder... everybody is selling this trash so cheap... you get what you pay!!!!
