DLO Power Kit delivers as advertised. Both the AC power transformer and the cigarette lighter adapter are both good quality and compact for easy travel. I would recommend getting an extra sync cable so you don't have to plug and unplug when swithing from car charger to AC adapter. This product is definitely a better alternative to purchasing Zune branded charging products. DLO Power Kit costs about one third the price of the zune brands. Two thumbs up!

i shopped around a lot before actually purchasing this for a trip... best value out there since you get the car charger and the wall charger. Stupid that the Zune doesnt just come with a wall charger... how much would this cost Microsoft? $0.50 to produce?
Works well, no issues so far, and if you have the USB cable that you use to charge/sync your Zune, you can use that with this charger as well.

We are a two Zune household, so it is great to have a way to charge without using the computer. Haven't actually used the car charger, but I'm excited to be able to. Love the fact that the wall charger has the fold-in prongs, makes it easier to store. All in all, great product, reasonable price.

Solid unit, would like to see macro functionality........2006-02-20
I've had this for three years now and have a lot of respect for the solid design and overall versatility of the unit.
I have also had to return the unit for service, due to a power hit - no fault of the Niles, I wish to make clear. I have comments on this too.
First, dislikes:
--No macro capability (well primitive). I would like to be able to pre-define a key on the touchpad, or use a shift-key function to trigger multiple events. Essentially, I need multiple macros on one source. Each macro can have as many as 12 steps. I solved this limitation by using a programmable remote that holds the key sequences. Be aware I am doing lots of programming of groups with a CD Jukebox. Using the jukebox remote is a nine step keysequence, so this is far more than just hitting play.
--One of the inputs is hardwired to be built in AM/FM tuner. I wish I could have the option to make it a switchable external input.
No optical input. In fairness, we are not doing audiophile quality here, just music thru the whole house; not that important IMO.
--Have to pick the devices you hook up to it carefully and do lots of planning. Not Niles fault here, it's the lack of standardazation in the whole AV community. There's a bunch of device codes out there and different IR signalling protocols. It makes every device a custom job and seriously hinders widespread acceptance of whole home audio IMO. I recommend using a pro installer unless you are a serious geek like me. This also means additional costs if you want to upgrade components that feed it periodically. True of all of them, I think.
Likes:
--Build/sound quality I compared to Russsound and several others, and found the engineering IMO to be overall superior. Component quality was very good and the flexibility of the unit was great. Pre-outs for several rooms as will as the ability to combine speakers from several rooms into one zone. Layout on the back has lots of options and well designed. Speaker clips are great.
--IR quality-Best darn IR transmitters/receivers I've ever seen. I have a CI solor IR behind a bunch of books and the thing still works. ANother is the MS-100 in ceiling. I can aim the remote any direction and it works. Apparently plasma TV's cause IR interference and this has the ability to avoid that as well as other forms of interference. These devices are nothing short of amazing. You should consider their IR devices if you are looking to relay IR around your home. They may seem expensive, but they work.
--Support, short hold times, toll free number. Friendly supportive tech folks who know their stuff and happy to help. What's not to love here?
Service-As mentioned before I had a power hit and it killed it along whit a bunch of other stuff. I sent it in, even though out-of-warranty and was bracing myself for a large repair bill, considering the initial cost of the unit. It was under $100. Delighted, shocked amazed... this is really one of the few companies whose support is as good as the product.
"Curb appeal"--CI solo looks good installed in the wall, the Gloria looks/feels well designed.
Versatility of inputs/outputs-- ANyting with an RCA jack is a source. Pre-outs for the study or other rooms where you want supplemental "kick".
Their stuff is not the cheapest, but it is well engineered and designed to years of use, not just until the warranty runs out. They've earned my loyalty.

I honestly cannot believe that people would pay the much for a ethernet cable. Honestly folks look around you can probably get a 10 foot cable for 1$. Don't waste your money on gold plated tips! These guys might make good stereo cables but its just way to much overkill for an ethernet cable.

Monster Cable is the definitive source for high-quality communications cable, this 10' Cat5 cable is all but short of the expectations set by other Monster Cable products. Transfer rates are excellent and it features a molded rubber boot, which helps prevent strain put on the cable conductors when pulled or bent. If you need a 10' ethernet cable, definately go with Monster Cable.
Less technical reason less expensive alternatives are better.......2001-06-19
Ethernet cabling is actually part of the ethernet standard. Unlike audio cables which can be effected heavily by surrounding noise and improper shielding (which is another term for a metallic covering located within the insulation of the cable), ethernet cables will not receive better performance than the set standard.
The standard for ethernet cabling is known as Category-5 which as guessed is a successor to earlier standards. Category-5 specifies the optimum minimum & maximum length for a network cable. Also it specifies the quality of the conductors, as well as the quality of the insulation. Category 5 is not shielded since noise is not an issue.
All the above means is that the minimum standard specified is also the optimum standard. Even when improved upon, it does not mean you can receive better results from it.
In the case of high performance and highly reliable networks, such as can be found in respectible companies such as Lucent, Linksys, Cisco and others who specialize specifically in network communications, their internal networks use these cables in some cases where the cables are over 200 feet each, there are no reliablity problems related to using this less expensive cable.
*** In short Monster is using their name and reputation to sell network cables which do not offer then end user any benefits over other cables costing 1/4th the price. *** Before purchasing this item, look into alternative cables and find something reasonable priced that simply states Category-5 compliance

Ethernet (and the tcpip protocal) is designed to handle poor signal quality.
CAT 5 cable uses a TX and RX line twisted around individual grounds!! That added to the FACT that ethernet uses a (2.5V-5.0V) HIGH and (0V-2.4V) LOW DIGITAL signal (off and on) there is no POSSIBLE way this cable is going to help you (unless your current cable is wrapped around a vaccumm cleaner a few times before it goes into the wall).
It saddens me to see Monster Cable sinking to this all time low ;_(

This cord is ten feet long,it costs approximatly twenty dollars, thats two dollars a foot. This may seem like alot but I'm sorry it is not!
