Bought this for my brother for his birthday. Plugged it in... worked okay... but then within 45 minutes the bulb stopped functioning. Was nice while it lasted, though. Same as the other reviewer, if we jiggle it around the bulb works for just a moment then goes black again.

I got this for Christmas, and it's a mixed review for me. I'm actually pleased with the sound, as I wanted this for my office at work. Just wanted something I could plug my nano in and so replace the boombox I had here. So for what is required of it, I have no problems with the sound, as I never really crank it up. However, the 'visual' component was a major disappointment. Within a week the 'bulb' at the top no longer functioned. I gather there is a short of some type, as if I push down on the glass ball on top I'll get a visual light effect for 2 seconds. Otherwise, nothing. Since part of the appeal of this was to have the light effects WITH the speakers, I'd have to advise caution in buying this. You can probably get speakers just as good cheaper elsewhere, and my experience says you are rolling the dice if you are buying this for the light effects as well.

My teenage son received this for Christmas as a speaker source for his ipod. He is happy with it, it's fun and pretty cool. I wonder if the price is a little high but all ipod speaker systems seem too high priced for me anyway. It is a fun novelty and the speakers seem pretty good, not for the serious sound seeker I don't believe, but I am no expert in speakers.

The card was cheap but you get what you pay for. After working well for a year, it no longer works and is not even reformattable. I don't recommend it - definitely worth investing an extra $10 for a better card.

It's been fine since I bought it "November 22, 2005" here at Amazon. But last week it died with a couple of pictures in it. I'll post the results of my attempt to get a replacement in a few weeks.
Update: Got the card today after an email that provided me with an RMA. I returned it and this one seems fine. So, I accept production faults happen, and that their prompt repair shows they're willing to stand by their product. I up the rating to **** four stars.
Dane Elec 512 MB Secure Digital Card Review.......2006-03-13
This type of card came with the digital camera I purchased and performs great--I've had no trouble with them. Everything works as it should with the camera and uploading onto my Picasa Photoshop Program. I just went from a 128MB card to the 512MB card so I could get more photos on the card. Service was fast--received it in about 4 days.
