This is the best case I have seen yet. I liked the idea of a clear case for my iPod. It is a very good design that leaves the top and bottom open for connections. I'm able to connect my radio transmitter while it's in the case, perfect for my car.

Don't buy this-you will most likely be disappointed. the plastic is of low quality and it arrived with scratches and chips in it. the hinge is at the bottom (worst idea ever) the lanyard is crappy-weak-and will result in a dropped ipod. the openings are all too small. the hold switch opening is so small only a toothpick could maneuver the switch-not even a fingernail-it's really that small. the headphone opening wouldn't allow any connector except the proprietary white ear buds, and the opening for the charger/connector is flanked by two huge hinges-rendering the opening useless. the mechanisms that keep the case closed are chincy and unreliable, often too tight to easily remove the ipod from it's death chamber. the hole for the click wheel is the only good part of the whole ordeal. The only reason they got that part right is due to the fact that it's a circle, the designers didn't get confused and make it a rectangle-(close one...phew!) the screen is well protected- until the case inevitably cracks in half. when dust or debris gets encapsulated inside, (which it does) the case will ultimately double as sandpaper- a nifty trick. don't buy this!

I bought this case and several others to see which one my daughter would like best for her 80GB Gen 5.5 iPod. She really liked this one best, but the extra hinge at the bottom made it a bit bulky. I know this is to provide a strong hinge so do not consider that a problem.

I bought two of these in a vain attempt to keep my IDE drives in service (after upgrading my motherboard/processor), all to no avail.
These "devices" might as well be matchbooks with connectors; they are inert, nonfunctioning.
