iAudio Cradle Black for X5L 30 GB.......2006-11-13

The extension that came with my unit broke. So I begun my search for a new adapter and came upon this one. I liked the fact that you could prop the unit up with this. The price for this shocked me however, seems awfully expensive for such a little thing. I don't understand why the inputs/outputs weren't designed on the unit itself. Seems silly that you need the cradle to do these things. I'm rating this two stars because it does the job and I like the fact that you can prop this up. However, the negatives outweigh the pros on this. I don't like how the player isn't plugged in more firmly. It's really loose. I carried the thing around and had the cradle fall off many times. I listen to my mp3 player via my car audio player, I plug an RCA cable from my car audio player into the unit. I don't have a good position for the mp3 and wish I could prop it up somewhere in my car. So, I usually just throw the mp3 player on my passenger seat. A few times when I make a sharp turn, the cradle will loosen itself up from the player and disconnect. Gets really, really, really annoying! Again, wish this was connected to the player better. Not only that, since it's loose, the cradle has left scratch marks on the bottom of my mp3 player.

What an Amazing Speaker!!.......2007-08-19

This is absolutely the BEST speaker at this price range, bar none.

I am somewhat of an audiophile, meaning sound quality really matters to me, and I have the ears to distinguish speaker quality, especially if side-by-side.

I have listened to many types of speakers at this price range and up to 25% above, and I have to say none come close. I pair these speakers with Yamaha HTR-5990 at 150 watts per channel, along with CSi3 for center and RTi6 for surround.

At first I used conventional setup, but later discover the bi-wire capability. Conventional setup was pretty amazing already, except for the low low (but I have a 400-watt subwoofer, so it wasn't an issue). But wnce I set up bi-wire, the sound really came alive. The high and mid are crisper and clearer, and the bass (low) response became amazingly deep and precise. For music, I now turn off the sub, as the RTi8 woofer is good enough, and in fact more precise and balance.

Again, use bi-wire when possible - it makes a huge difference.
