I've used the product over 15 times, and some of the scratches still look the same! I am holding out hope that eventually they will go away, but so far I don't see much improvement.

Not too satissfied with the "Ultra Pro" part of this product........2005-10-24
My iPod was moderately scratched up and had skid marks on the display so I bought this product to polish it.
The normal scratch remover and maintenance polish worked very well and made the front part of my iPod look a lot better. I wouldn't go as far as to say it looked like new, but it took off the marks on the screen which is what I was worried the most about. I'm sure if I continue to polish it, I might get it to look like new from the front.
However I am not satisfied and am dissappointed with the "back & deep scratch polish" included in this package. I used it twice on the back of my iPod following the instructions provided on the products website (the included instructions don't have pictures), and the scratches it had weren't removed at all and it actually looks like it only helped make hundreds of smaller scratches.
I used the normal "iPod and iBook scratch remover" and it helped make this better, but it would have definetely been better if I hadn't used the "back and deep scratch polish" at all.
Being that this polish I mentioned last is what makes this the "Ultra Pro Kit" and is not included in the cheaper normal kit, I am pretty dissappointed. Either my iPod needs at least 3 more polishes with that product or it isn't as effective as the normal polishes included in the cheaper kit.
I think I should have bought the cheaper kit only.
+3 stars for the towels and the normal polishes.
-2 for my bad experience with the "back and deep scratch polish".

I had trie everything so far to clean my Ibook, the last thing I bought is the Iklear works great for basic cleaning, but never got rid of the scratches an stains (dirt). Finally I bought this Icleaner when I used it for the first It got rid of some scratches but the best thing is the Deep scratch removers works great with scratches and stains. Believe me this is the best cleaner out there

I am reviewing iCleaner's "Maintenance formula" and not the ultra-pro kit.
Immediately after buying myself a brand new iPod, I realized that there were some very light scratches on the LCD, which upset me more than I'd like to admit. I bought the "maintenance formula" iCleaner that is supposed to take care of these light scratches on new iPods, however I was disappointed with the results. It took care of the most noticeable scratch, but it actually left tons of microscopic scratches that couldn't be buffed out. Under close investigation, these scratches become very visible, however from a distance they are invisible. I guess this is the result the makers of iCleaner were hoping to achieve: remove 1 moderate scratch by making dozens of smaller ones.
I do not recommend this product at all. Unless you have a very damaged iPod, just live with the scratches and don't worry about the minor vanity imperfections that are bound to happen on any electronic. (As a matter of fact, I bought a brand new iPod from the store today, took off the protective plastic, and STILL found tiny microscopic scratches on the LCD. They are there from the very beginning!)
If you have deep, noticeable scratches, this product may be worth the money, but for smaller scratches, you are best off just trying to prevent further scratches by investing in a good case. *Look up the toughskin product.... very good at protecting the screen and wheel* I don't know if the stronger "ultra-pro" kit works or not, but the "scratch repair" process is the same no matter what kit you buy. I thought it was rather expensive but had a gift certificate and wanted to try my luck. I used a lot of elbow grease and got a nice shiny screen but none of the big scratches came out using the "deep scratch remover." I will try again when I get the chance but I would try another product if you do not want to spend 30 dollars for a mediocre job.

With all due respect to the lone critic who two-starred the iCleaner, permit me to disagree somewhat with his conclusions. The iCleaner products are indeed a bit pricey but they do a pretty fair job of cleaning up your iPod.
First, a caveat: your iPod is NEVER going to be as shiny and pristine as the day you popped it out of its little cardboard cube. While it's a durable item, its encasing is simply a bit on the delicate side--you're going to wind up with some scratches here and there no matter how you baby it.
That said, the iCleaner package I purchased contained the maintenance polish, the scratch remover, and the back & deep scratch polish, along with a latex glove and two cloths. You don't have to use much of any of the products to see some results, although you need three things that only you can supply:
* Patience
* Time
* Care
The deep scratch polish is by far the most effective item included because it does remove many of the surface flaws your iPod may have accumulated. Bear in mind that in addition to some elbow grease, you may have to repeat the polishing two or three times to get the most visible results. Unlike the previous reviewer, I had great success polishing the mirrored back surface--even a couple of the uglier gouges were mostly remedied by the polish.
Be cautious with the polishes near your click wheel and button by using a Q-Tip near those areas so you can be more precise. You may get some of the material too close but unlike the previous reviewer I didn't experience any problem with my device's performance even though a little may have gotten in the miniscule crevice between the wheel and the center-button.
My screen had some scratches that were also cured by the iCleaner, so that was a big plus. I'd recommend spending several minutes on both sides and the edges of the iPod with the polish, wiping off the excess, then doing it as many times as needed to remove the major scuffs and scratches. After that, you can use the maintenance polish regularly to shine it up.
And for God's sake, folks, once you get it clean, put a protective case or skin around your iPod. That's the best advice anybody can give you.
