First of all and this probably taints the review due the "value for performance issue", I got this Jamo setup as a last one, unboxed, display unit at Tweeter. So the price was an absolute steal and if I recall it was roughly 75% off of their regular price. They were clearing the way for different display stuff. My luck!

I've placed this system head to head with my primary stereo system which uses a DLO MP3 cradle, 200W per channel Adcom Amp and Pre-amp and a set of Theil CS2.2's (older model). THe sound coming out of the Jamo speakers, given their size, lower wattage, and far smaller bass heft is relatively impressive in comparison to the larger dedicated stereo system with far superior speakers and amp feed.

For the difference in price, even if I had paid retail, I remain impressed with the Jamo. The cradle is a very simple but comlete control center. My only dig is the very chintzy remote. It is as if it was an afterthought.

One thing to note is that the Jamo MP3 cradle accepts my IPOD Classic WITH its protective cover still on and will connect properly and fully into the male jack due to "deep penetration"....! Unlike other MP3 cradles where I must take the plastic protector off every time I dock the MP3 because the male jack is too short...hmmm. Sounds like a design "endowment" problem for the other guys...heh heh!

Deep bass that doesn't disort at high volume- crystal clear treble; these beauties are doing double duty right now as my computer and ipod speakers. the remote is a bit small and as the buttons are uniform in size, somewhat indistinct. once you're used to it, it'll be no issue though- and the remote works from quite a distance away too.

these aren't reference speakers or anything, but all my music is sounding great, from hip-hop to pop to avant garde to chamber music, everything is coming out clear and gorgeous. they're a bit pricey, but if you shop around, they might come in at around $300, and they are well worth it.

Awesome for movies, but music lacks something.......2002-01-21

The little cubes are amazing, especially since they spread the sound to so many areas of a room (each speaker twists into two directions- for a total of 10). This is nice for me because I don't want it too loud (my walls are paper thin), but music just isn't the same on a Sat. afternoon when I want to rock out. My advice is to save your pennies and get something that carries more mid-range and bass in the satellite speakers. If it's movies that you want to enjoy, your in the right place. Lastly, the wires that Bose supplies are long and can accommodate a decent size room, but they're kinda flimsy.
