PodHolder supports and displays your iPod without getting in its way. Think of it as a piece of acrylic art that doubles as a place to park your iPod.
PodHolder protects the back and bottom of your ipod from scuffs and scratches by floating it on six clear rubber pads. These pads provide a tacky surface to grip your iPod, preventing it from sliding around while resting upon PodHolder.

There are two ways to go in holders, cradles, or stands for iPods: ornate, highly engineered pieces that themselves sometimes rival works of art; or functional and minimalist. This, clearly (ha!), is of the latter sort. It's a very basic piece of shaped acrylic with some little rubber pads to support the iPod. As you would expect, this form achieves its function very well -- especially at the price. I have a third-generation, 40-gig iPod, which was probably one of the largest, heaviest, 'Pods ever released, and it sits solidly in the PodHolder, not moving even while I use the scroll wheel.
I should also note the very satisfying experience I had with PodShop, the manufacturer and Amazon.com storefront. I ordered the PodHolder at about 11:30 in the morning, and shortly thereafter received the usual e-mail acknowledgement from Amazon.com. About an hour later, I got an e-mail from PodShop thanking me for my order, and three minutes after that received another saying my order had shipped. From receiving my order to shipping the product within 90 minutes -- outstanding! (Of course, I still had to wait for-freakin'-ever for the USPS to deliver the thing, but that's not PodShop's fault: the shipping label confirms the date when it left the manufacturer.)
