Jaws adjust from 1.16? (29.5 mm) to 2.5? (63.5 mm) and the length adjusts 1.4? (35.6 mm) to allow items to be placed in the jaws so they do not interfere with critical buttons on the sides. No tools are required to adjust the jaws to fit the device, and they open with a quick release button. Sure grip soft jaws protect hold the device without scratching its surface. The UniFlex mount features a double wound shaft for maximum rigidity with the flexibility to handle difficult mounting situations. Heavy-duty, black vinyl coating protects the shaft. AMPS/NEC compatible and backed by a "lifetime warranty.? A patented "pinch design? prevents the flex shaft from coming loose from the base or the head plate. The adjusting point under the mounting plate tilts 210, turns 360 and rotates 360 to maximize handset accessibility. I purchased this to hold my tiny iRiver MP3 player, iPod, or cell phone. I wasn't sure how well it would work so I gambled & ordered it. I received the package in only a few days from the vendor using the standard shipping and was very pleased. The flex shaft/mount/head are built SOLID and look professional. The gripper/holder is well, blah plastic.
The gripper/holder does in fact grip tightly and held all my electronics nicely and allowed buttons on the side to be accessed. My package did come w/screws to attach the gripper to the shaft head so I did not have to worry about this like a previous reviewer.
The flex shaft is extremely sturdy and will not bend/wiggle unless intended to. As far as mounting was concerned, the Amazon product picture wasn't very clear so I didn't understand how it mounted to the vehicle until I got the device in hand. The product does require you to purchase three #10 5/8" screws for mounting. They should have included these for completeness. Using an electric screwdriver, I easily attached the unit to the side of my vehicles (Murano) plastic console. The body metal just below the console is too flimsy for mounting so I had no other option than to mount directly to the plastic console. I thought my console was sturdy, but it now vibrates a little given the weight of the heavy flex shaft and electronics when the vehicle is moving. One advantage to mounting to the console or nearby (instead of a window mount kit) is that it is easy to hide any wires going to the electronics).
Overall, I love having my electronics mounted so they no longer fly around the car during turns.

I found this to be a very sturdy design for an iPod, cell phone or GPS holder. The design and aesthetics fit any vehicle and the length helps those with trucks or higher center consoles.
It would be have been more convenient had hardware (at least screws) arrived with the unit. I had to run to the hardware store to get screws to mount to the vehicle, and super glue to fasten a car-vent iPod/cell phone holder to the other end of the car mount. Overall, not a major inconvenience.
Overall a great item, and it fits nicely in my vehicle.

Good Quality discs, Marginals cases........2002-06-01
I've used Imation products since 5 1/4 inch floppies.... Some are great some are not as great.. These are good discs, I can burn them in any of my burners REGARDLESS of disc color which is rare in this sort of thing.
The cases however are another story. Thin and brittle they are not really up to the job of protecting these products.
If you are going to use them in a camera or local are they'll be OK, if you are mailing them, choose elsewhere.
