It works, but not as perfect..........2007-11-24

It's an interesting gadget...both switch buttons are very functional (the Ipod Shuffle must be turned "ON" to make it work). The only major drawback is that it tends to reduce the volume output quite dramatically. There's a big difference of volume level just by plugging the Ipod directly with a regular 3.5mm mini plug to a speaker and/or headphones, whereas compared when it is attached and docked. Even when the Shuffle is at it's maximum, the volume control of a separate component or a powered speaker(s) must be turned up to fully satisfy the individual listeners' level of music.
I must say it's not quite as impressive nor expensive...just a "cute little add-on toy" to play with....

Chops off the beginning of some songs !.......2007-09-05

When playing a CD, either a music CD or mp3's, the first song played
has the beginning of the sound missing, just a fraction
of a second chopped off - the following songs play OK.
On shuttle mode, ALL the songs played exhibit this same problem !
In general though, I rate it good value, with better than average sound quality.

Philips killed my Zen.......2007-08-08

Since this unit is equipped with a USB interface and claims to work with other USB audio players, I thought it would be the perfect unit to work with both the Ipod and my Creative Zen. Wrong. It works fine with the Ipod, but it killed my Zen. Burnt. Now my computer won't recognize the Zen, it smells funny, and it reboots itself constantly if it even comes on at all.

Great unit if you are looking for something elegant and functional for spaces you don't want to clutter up with "in your face" electronics.

- Looks great and controls are fairly intuitive
- Sound quality is decent, good bass if you want it
- IPOD integration is good but no song titles on the LED display
- Goes into eco power mode when you turn it off which is pretty cool

Great little iPod system with some neat extras.......2007-06-30

I picked this up a week ago and have been playing with all the features. I was not expecting much, but for a system in the $100-$150 range it sounds good and has a lot of neat features. The iPod control works great and I've had no problems navigating through the menus and playing music and podcasts from my 30Gb Video iPod.

Only complaint so far is the playing of music files from my 2Gb USB stick. For some reason the music is really garbled and choppy, not sure why. I'm going to do some more testing with other USB portable storage to see if it's just something particular with my 2Gb Lexar stick. Not a huge concern for me as I got it for the iPod integration.
