Very disappointing.......2006-11-25
Sadly, given the description posted for this product, I'd say it approaches false advertising. The thickness of the "skin" is on the order of .005" (five thousandths). While the designs and colors are very nice, the impression given is one VASTLY different than what the material can be expected to provide.
Certainly, the product will function to reduce scratches and abrasion to the 'pod, but for how long?
Even my daughter, to whom "looking cool" counts more than function, was disappointed in both the feel and look of the skins. Fundamentally, I feel that I've wasted $20, in that the time/hassle factor makes it not worth returning the things.
A more detailed, and forthcoming description of the product is in order.
Fundamentally, the "wrap" is a THIN layer of plastic on paper backing. Like an address label, it uses an adhesive to hold the "wrap" on the 'pod. This is susceptible to edge curling and all the other weaknesses of a sticky label. It does not wrap around to "protect" the bottom or top of the 'pod. Certainly, it will afford a certain amount of abrasion resistance, but the level is in question. I also am VERY wary about the length of time the adhesive would remain good along with concern that the edges would wear and come loose.
In the meantime, we've acquired "proper" skins for our pods and are much happier.
On the brighter side, the screen protecting panel works well, it adheres without adhesive, is thick enough to be viable and stays in place very well. Both of us are using this part of the product.

I've used these Riteks since '03 and they've proven reliable in the long run. I've burned hundreds of these and have had very, very few coasters. The label has no dark ink on it, so it's easy to write on. Great value. Highly recommended.
half of dvd were ok until none worked .......2007-01-09
I purchased the ritek due to a good review. Now, after using half the disks, which had problems with my samsung dvd recorder, I have 20 so far that cannot be recorded. Shame on you Ritek. The disks I bought were the ones you can print on. Too many problems. I will go back to the major brands again.

They become unplayable after a few months. Do a google search for Ritek 8x problems and you will get to the online forums where this problem has been discussed.
I just threw away a hundred discs that I burned less than 8 months ago!!!

I've burned over 250 of these with ZERO coasters, no errors, ever. I have perfect playback on computer DVD players as well as my standalone Panasonic S-27. I have never had any shipping problems, broken discs, or any of the other problems mentioned by some people below. I will never use another brand.

As one of the reviewer said, the shipping is terrible. When I opened the package, it looked like that it was thrown from the top of empire building. If you like buy a puzzle made from 100 DVD-R, I highly recommended to you to buy this item.

Fast, reliable card.......2007-05-31
I ordered this card in conjuction with a Canon A710-IS camera since it came with an almost useless 16MB card - good for only about five pictures. This card also writes and reads much quicker than standard SD cards. I chose the Lexar brand because I have had excellent reliability with the Lexar brand compact flash cards in my Canon 20d (and Canon 10d prior to that). Over 15,000 pictures without a problem (knock on wood!). So far, this card is performing as expected.
