Hardy, Reliable device even with Vista.......2007-10-05
Full discloser, I didn't purchase the product through Amazon. I actually won it at a manufacturer's product show about 3 years ago. In that time I've used it to transfer innumerable files between multiple PC's without any troubles. Transfer speed is reasonable (at least in my opinion), and it also works with no troubles on my new Vista laptop.
The only complaint I have is that the cap doesn't fit on very tightly and is very easy to lose (mine lasted about 2 months). On the other hand, even after losing the cap I've thrown it at the bottom of my purse, in jean pockets, etc without taking any precautions and have yet to have problems.

He usado esta memoria desde marzo de 2004 y la adquirí por su compatibilidad con LINUX. Hoy día la mayoría cumplen con esto, pero en aquella época no todas tenían este requisito.
La memoria cumple muy bien con todas sus funciones, aún que a veces tuve problemas con la tapa al meter el producto en el bolsillo y esta se salía. Pero en fin, solo hay que tener un poco de cuidad y listo. Sugiero a la fecha los productos Lexar

For an inexpensive jump drive I found this one to be very good. It was easy to use and convenient for transferring pictures from my computer to a printing station at the local photo developers.

works fine for me. One file(a program I backed up on this thing) wouldn't upload to my PC, but other than that works fine. Stores libraries of text and very large media files. Cap fits perfectly. Better than CDRW storeage which won't store files with riduculasly long names as driver files and updates. no problem at all up/downloading them with this. No need to zip them up or unzip for use. If you format your HD alot when your PC makes messy *(&^ and need quick restoration this is a blessing. If thier is a problem with storing/downloading it is probably from removing the device from the USB port too soon before/after use. Also stores songs.

I've owned three jump drives, and this one was by far the worst. It has firmware that you have to work around, and computers often wouldn't recognize this unit, which at one point prevented me from saving valuable data. (I used it on four different PCs, with about a 50% success rate.)
Getting the cap aligned just right was a nuisance.
I'm very delighted, though, with another Lexar product with the same memory and in the same price range. Go for the newer model.

Mine fell apart when I removed it from the front of the computer with little effort. Lexar think that any of their products that fails has been abused. I had my final project on there for an engineering class, luckly I had a backup and only lost a couple hours work,
It works on PCs other than Dell.......2005-04-29
This USB drive is not for Dell users. I have had success with it on ever machine, including Macs, with the exception of Dells. So if you use a Dell, I do not recommend this drive. If you do not use Dells, then this drive will work fine.

My girlfriend bought this same product and had the same problems using it with a Dell. Lexar made it poorly and the plastic comes up too high. I cut part of the plastic off, and it works great now, but it is slightly difficult to cut it off.
I wouldn't recommend this brand, and I'd suspect Lexar will be taking them off the shelves soon because of the malfunction.
Too short to connect!.......2004-07-02
The USB connection is too short to connect to my Dell laptop. I contacted Lexar and they are looking into the matter and offering me an exchange. Also, cannot find the Private Browsing software/option.
Incompatible with Dell Keyboard.......2004-04-27
I bought one of these and brought it home only to find out that the USB interface is too short to work in my Dell Keyboard USB slots. I have never had this difficulty with other swappable USB devices.
As the USB connector in the back of my tower is inconvenient to access, I will be returning the Jump Drive to the store.
