Samsung Camera has entered the DSLR market with the Samsung GX-1S, a six-megapixel model featuring world-renowned Schneider optics and a high-resolution 2.5-inch LCD. The interchangeable lens DSLR was developed jointly with partner Pentax Corporation.For outstanding image quality, the GX-1S features high-precision, 16 segment multi-pattern metering to assure accurate light measurement in addition to center-weighted metering and spot metering for more advanced applications. To provide accurate focusing on a variety of subjects the GX-1S incorporates a sophisticated 11-point AF sensor and a choice of AF single or AF-continuous for a wide variety of options. For further image control, users can chose from several White Balance settings and a variety of automatic shooting modes such as Portrait, Landscape, Moving Object, Macro and more.Developed specifically for use with the Samsung GX-1S is the Schneider D-XENON 18mm~55mm lens. World-renowned Schnieder optics has long been a defining feature of Samsung's high-end digital still camera models, and the GX-1S is no exception.The Samsung GX-1S includes a high-speed consecutive shooting mode of up to 2.8 frames per second up to eight frames in JPEG shooting and up to five frames per second when shooting in Raw Mode, allowing the user to capture a series of the subject's action or movement. A GOOD ADDITION WITH FEWER FEATURES.......2007-12-15

OFFERED FOR LESS THAN ALL BEGINNING DSLR CAMWERAS, THE CAMERA HAS FEWER FEATURES THAN THE SAMSUNG GX-1L THAT I ALREADY OWN. THE GX-1L HAS A MENU OF LIGHT SETTINGS ON AN fn SCREEN. THESE PRESET LIGHT SETTINGS MIGHT MAKE THE GX-1L SLIGHTLY EASIER TO USE THAN THE GX-1S, BUT YOU CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE. I USE THIS CAMERA TO TAKE WITH ME ALMOST EVERYWHERE AS THE GX-1S IS LIGHT WEIGHT LIKE THE GX-1L. BOTH CAMERAS ARE A GOOD WAY TO ENTER THE WORLD OF PENTAX MOUNT CAMERAS, AND KEEP THE PRICE LOW. THEY ARE WELL MADE WITH GOOD OPTICS. YOU CAN ALWAYS ADD TO A PENTAX MOUNT SYSTEM WITH CAMERAS HAVING RELATED CHARACTERISTICS. THERE ARE MANY, MANY LENSES AVAILABLE.

Misleading Product Name.......2007-09-21

I bought this battery for use on a Sony HDR-SR7 HD camcorder. The product name says "Adorama", "with Info", and "Replacement for the Sony NPFH-100", but those are misleading. What I received was actually a Power2000 brand, and it looks quite different from the picture. When I read "with Info" in the title, I expected it to be able to show its status on the camcorder's LCD screen. However, that's not the case. The SR7 actually says it can't work with this battery and shuts down in a few seconds.

The instruction is poorly written. For example, "Remark: Please take out of the battery if no use."

The instruction says on FH series Handicams you have to use the provided cable to connect the DC output of the battery and the DC input of the camcorder. On FP series Handicams it can be directly used without the cable. To charge the battery you have to use the Sony AC-L25A, AC-VQP10, or FP & FH series chargers. It didn't mention the BCTRP charger that I was going to buy. The battery cannot be charged when attached to the SR7.

Don't waste your money on it.
