The new stay-on-case is developed specially to optimally protect the ATS 80 telescope. The view-through case hugs the apparatus so that the telescope is optimally embedded in the case. It will not rub or slip in the cover. This case allows you to view through the scope without having to remove the scope from the case, a "must have" that will save you invaluable field time. The telescope is perfectly protected from any nudges or jolts when travelling and in the thick of field action. Supplied with carrying strap. With very light fabric, this case offers more protection while it weighs only 0.39 lb (175 g).

Swarovski's posh spotting scopes are hallmarks of the distinguished brand. They're available in two objective sizes, straight or angled viewing, and with regular or ultra-low dispersion glass. It is entirely a personal preference which cannot be determined except from experience, but many prefer anlged scopes for extended observations or when sharing a scope amongst people of varied heights. The 80mm size lets in enormous quantities of light, allowing for use of higher magnifications in poorer light than with the 65mm version. Understandably, it is larger, heavier and more expensive, but if you're not frequently hiking with your scope it is likely worth the expense and mass. The "HD" versions of Swarovski's scopes feature elements with extra-low dispersion glass. This provides an even more remarkable image, with better edge resolution. In particular, color fringing is nearly eliminated.
