It has a variable angle of view of 69.3 degree - 27.9 degree. The use of aspherical lenses provides correction for various aberrations throughout the entire zoom range and produce high level of optical performance. 18-50mm F3.5-5.6 DC lens has a minimum focusing distance of 25cm (9.8in.) at all focal lengths and is capable of macro photography with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.5.

This Sigma lens is a improvement than the Olympus E300 Packaged lens I got from: Zuiko 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 Digital SLR Lens.
I get sharper and clearer pictures then the Zuiko lens I got with my Camera.

I bought this after reading the other reviews on this item. I AM NOT disappointed. It may be a little slow, but for closeup shots of flowers, insects, etc., I was overwhelmed. The detail and color were amazing. I bought my EVOLT 500 with two bundled lenses, and was disappointed with both of them. This makes up for it. I'll be looking at other Sigma lenses from now on. For the price, it's unbeatable.

I saw the price of this lens and I was alittle skeptical. I read the the person's review of this lens, so I decided what do I got to lose and bought it. This is an amzing lens for the price I paid for. I'm really pleased with the results of the photos. I recommend this lens to anyone who is on a budget. You will be suprised when you see your photos.

Digital cameras having image sensors larger than APS-C size, and 35mm cameras, should not be used with these lenses. If such cameras are used, severe vignetting in the images may result. The angle of view varies depending on the camera the lens is mounted on

A good replacement for the Canon 18-55mm Standard Lens to be used on cameras that don't support EF-S lentes (i.e. EOS 10D)
I've bought this lenses a month ago, and it's really useful for outdoor photography, it works really fine !!
When used indoor in low light conditions you must use a flash, because of the f/3.5-5.6 making them a slow lenses, but it's Ok for the price !
For Amateur use I highly recommend it.
If you're looking for fast lens this is not the option... look for another f/2.8 or wide aperture lenses but you must expend 4 times this amount of money...
