My wife and I do quite a bit of bird/critter watching, including over water. These binoculars are perfect for that purpose. The 50mm objective lens gathers lots of light allowing for greater detail. The 10 power is probably as powerful as you'd want for hand-held binoculars. And let's face...Nikon is a great name in lenses.

I have owned a pair of these binoculars for years. This new pair is for my husband who has always said that MY binocs were so much BETTER than his. For catching Hawaii's red i`iwi and apapane (native birds)in the koa forests, these cannot be beat. For scanning the hillsides for sheep on Mauna Loa or elk in the Rocky Mountains, these are the best. These binoculars bring details alive in the landscape that you will totally miss out on otherwise. For the average user, not needing specialized or unique features in a binocular, this seems to be an excellent choice for general use. The binocular's modest weight should not prove an undue problem for most users. The carrying strap is of acceptable quality as is the carrrying/storage case. Suitable protective caps are provided. Glasses wearers should not expect great frustration with the eyepieces. The binocular feels comfortable and steady in smaller and larger sized hands. Focus adjustments seemed excellent and easy to use. It has wonderful clarity, throughout the field of vision,in varying ambient lighting conditions. While not the best choice for users that place great importance on size, weight, and variable magnifications, it's a solid buy of excellent quality.

Excellent binoculars! Found them difficult to use while wearing glasses. Constantly had trouble seeing to separate fields, unless I took my glasses off. Brightness and clarity is great.

Wow... excellent optics, clarity is superb and field of view is fabulous. The only thing left is the wonderful ergonomically shaped body that fits in your hand like a glove. Good binos........2007-08-21
I bought a pair of these about 2 years ago for bird watching. I was very happy with them. Unfortunately they where broken on a recent family vacation.
I came home and promptly bought a new set. I not only bought a pair for me, but also a pair for my two sons and my mother.
I've never looked through a pair of ungodly expensive binoculars so I honestly can't tell you how these compare. But I will say I've owned several different pairs of 'nocs over the last decade and these are far and away my favorite.
I especially like the center focus bar. A few months back (before vacation) I thought I needed a new pair of bins. I purchased a pair that had a center focus wheel. I took them in the field to bird watch and was very disappointed with them. I had gotten so spoiled with the center focus bar that I had a hard time focusing fast enough with a center wheel focus. 9 times out of 10 the bird I was trying to look at flew away before I could bring the other pair (also Bushnell) into focus.

For the price, these binoculars are really nice. The only drawback is the size, they are a full size binocular and a little heavy but not too bad. They do a great job and are well worth the price.

Several years ago I bought a pair of Bushnell 10X50 binoculars and to this day they are amazing. So, when it was time to buy a pair for a family member I decided to buy another pair of Bushnell 10X50. Unfortunately, I did not understand the specs of binoculars and the field of view of the new pair is much, much smaller than the old pair. I also noticed that the new pair were made in China and the old were made in the Phillipines. I am not sure but maybe the country of manufacture has something to do with the difference. I'm not sure.
Anyway, I would recommned trying the binoculars of choice at a store and then order. Do not go by the specs!

If it wasn't for the safety caps that fall off easily I would rate this item with 5 stars. However, the binoculars are great for checking out sports like basketball and football, especially if you can't afford the pricy seats.
No Problems with the Bushnell Falcon Binoculars.......2007-01-05
Although they weren't packed securely--just loose in a box--the Bushnell Falcon Binoculars work well and have served us well. My wife especially has enjoyed them at the huge 92,000 seat stadium University of Georgia football games. They have functioned very well, with a sharp image and no mechanical problems. We have enjoyed them very much, and I would recommend them to others.

very good value. sharp images as long as you brace your arms; 16X also magnifies the shakiness 16 times! probably not as good as leupold or swarovsky, but at under $100 a little forgiveness is justified. a great item to have handy when traveling.

I had bought this bushnell binocular mainly for star gazing. It didn't help me that much on that. May be I had higher expectations on this item, since I'm a novice. I was expecting the order of magnification like I saw in TV cameras when they zoom in on moon during sports telecasts. But this item is still worth for the money. I could use this to see moon and Mars so far with decent magnification.
Only thing to make sure is hold a steady hand when using or use a tripod.
Focus tab is not really a hinder as others in the review had mentioned.

Not only are these convenient, but for the price, they offer an extremely wide angle, and good image quality. Lacking are eye diopter adjustments--this is a serious handicap. But for the price, a really good deal.

These are great for fast action sporting or even bird watching. I got them for my 4 year old son to use at the Georgia football games. He has a hard time with focus. These work great because all he has to do is look and it there. The size is nice and we have no problem adjusting from his size to mine. Ours came from an Amazon partner... Optic planet... I think. And they were great as well. Super fast shipping and great contact from start to finish.

The Bushnell Perma Focus 7x50 Wide Angle Binoculars were the ideal choice for my recent trip to Tanzania and the Serengeti. They worked perfectly for the application needed. A really happy surprise on just how well these worked. As we bounced around on dirt roads and cross country in Land Rovers, the Perma Focus feature was outstanding and made things simple and easy! :-) The magnification level was perfect for almost every scenario we came across. Anything that was outside of about 80 feet came through in crystal clear vivid color and clarity. It really made for up close and personal viewing of all the animals we saw. By far, these were the best investment I made before the trip! I can't imagine being without them now on such an expedition. Really fantastic performance and a great value to boot!!!! We just got these for a trip to Alaska. I LOVE them! They are so easy to share. The sharpness of the image is AMAZING! My Dad wears glasses and I don't. No problem. We can both see CLEARLY! The amazing part is he doesn't need to have his glasses on! My husbands eyesight is completely different than mine, same story.Very cool item! Very well constructed. Highly recommended!

We bought these binoculars to leave in a rental for our guests. The problem with most binoculars, even the so-called rubber-clad ones, is that the first time they are dropped or knocked hard, they get misaligned - so when you look through them, you get two images that can't be merged! In other words, they are useless.
This is the first set of binoculars which has survived a year of use - and with luck, will survive more years of use. We believe this is due to the very thick rubber cladding which protects them. They take getting used to - all focussing is at the eyepieces, there is no center wheel. That design feature may in fact contribute to their durability.

These are my first pair of "nice" binoculars and I love them so far.
I'm using them for astronomy and their views are clear as a bell. Well worth the extra bucks. The rubber coating is thick and makes them feel sturdy and easy to hold. The focus knob, exit pupil adjustment, and tripod mount cover all turn smoothly. Focusing does take some effort because of the seals but in my experience all waterproof bino focus knobs take some work to turn.
I tried Nikon, Swarovski, Leupold, Celestron, Mead, Bushnell, and Jason. The Pentax are a great bang for your stargazing buck.
